Burning Ground...no gameplay fun or reason here

Yeah, this. Quit asking for nerfs. The game is not as advertised now. Floor effects need to be in.
So, energy shield don't do burning floor maps. This isn't a hard concept.
Build and map affix conflict (aka bricked maps) isn't new. Some builds can handle certain affixes better than others

For non CI builds, burning ground isn't too much of an issue

I know i'm not the first. doing very well at at lvl 95 running juiced maps, but god forbid there's burning ground, especially with something like lower resists or reduced life refresh rate etc.

yes i can run them, but such a pain if i need to stop for a pick-up or ritual rewards etc.

far as i'm concerned, zero gameplay value

I like to fuse lower maps with this stat and the t-15 I vall to check if removes it, if not I just sell.
Would be fun if burning ground would burn monsters as well.
If you're a Merc with a gas grenade build it completely renders it useless. As soon as the gas grenades hit the ground they ignite.
Literally have no issue standing in fire with my Merc build. To comment on the gas grenade issue, this is like saying Proximal Tangibility shouldn't be in the game because builds depending on long-range attack bonuses can't hit them. I skip plenty of other maps for other reasons. Every class/build/combo is going to be good/bad with certain environment modifiers. PoE has never said that every class/build will be OP and able to do anything. I vaguely remember them saying in the leadup that they "don't expect many people to beat the pinnacle bosses". While that doesn't address any specific mechanic, what it does say is "we want a game that requires you to try as hard as possible to beat, and you likely will not be able to do it without significant investment in min/maxing your build and map strategy."

Burning floor issues? Don't run those maps. No cold resistance? Don't run maps with "Monsters gain +% to damage as Cold Damage". No elemental penetration? Don't run "Monsters have +% elemental resistances".

Ultimately, this game is hard and in EA a bit unbalanced. If you have trouble with a modifier, re-roll it until you get one you like or sell it. Once you get to T10+ maps, you really need to be smart about which ones you choose to take on. The game's main reward for doing well is to literally make the game harder so that you get better rewards/etc. Look at any of the endgame atlas nodes. Your reward for accomplishing anything is to inherently make the game less possible to beat.

I've hit quite a few roadblocks in my build and spent well over 1.5 million gold respeccing, trying dozens of different gem combinations to min/max DPS, spent a ton of currency on trade items to optimize for a particular build, etc. Each time, I've learned something and gotten better at building. People in this thread have already shown it's possible to having burning ground and stand in the fire without noticing. Why? They have a build that handles it. They didn't get there "on accident" more than likely.

Avoid or Adapt. Those are you only strategies for progressing in this game. There's no shame in taking Avoid over Adapt, it all just depends on what resources you have available at the time.

Burning ground is the only thing that does not kill my warrior.

It is a free negative mod that he just totally ignores.

The few times I do not simple ignore it is to stand in it on purpose so I can try to convince myself that I am tough and not a paper tiger that can get one-shotted by hits that my robe wearing buddies ignore.
