Runic Strike

I like the general idea of an elemental melee skill, but instead of having runes in skill which might cause confusion, why not call it "Prismatic Strike"? Seems name would fit the fantasy well.


It was part of a "Melee Strike Skills Rework" post I made years back. It was a more focused Wild Strike before they made the alt quality of the gem use inverted elemental resists.

Ideally you usually had a 2 split damage types. So you'd get both Chill + Brittle and Shocked + Sapped. This made it much better for bossing. Now it would probably just be a revision of Wild Strike or Elemental Hit. I was focusing on making certain things that inherently don't work well with each other do so like Impale and Bleed from Cascade of Steel.

I've actually made around 200 skills for video games. Like actual, animated, vfx, scripted skills you could try now. Many of which could apply to PoE if it had more / better mechanics.

That's pretty cool, well hoping we will see the release of the Druid with next content patch coming in March.
Caltrops

That's a pretty awesome idea, really like the Stalactite Shield and would be a fun addition to a thorns build.

With the anticipated release of the Druid class, I think it would be neat to have a wall of thorns spell that deals damage based on your own physical thorns damage on your character...

Wall of Thorns
Spell, Duration
Creates a wall of Thorns which holds back enemies. If the wall is sufficiently damaged or pushed hard enough, damages nearby enemies based on your physical thorns damage.

I remember MTG, haven't played in many years back in Revised edition, using blue spells like Counterspell and Control Magic.

I want bleed to be a thing and I want a path to get more life so this is my dream. Of course need the mandatory debuff..

Cruel Harvest
Spirit Passive 30 spirit

You leech X% of bleed damage you do as life. Damage leeched this way overflows life (double maximum). You have 25% less max health.

That's an interesting idea, I would call it "Blood Harvest."
Strike with your fists dealing 1 thorn damage.
10% more thorns damage.
50% more light radius.
Deal 50% less damage.
Lose double xp on death.
Delete a random equipped item when hit.

Not sure if the negatives are big enough to be in line with rest of the game though, :/ what you guys think? maybe add "25% less rarity on kill" also?
