Remove class locked passive tree starting point?
I don't think so. I have played as warrior with quaterstaff. I had No issues due to hulking form. Arguably as good if not better than monk. You just have to invest more into life instead of energy shield.
I played as Chronomancer with both a bow and quatersatff. Again No issues . Just invest more into mana and take mind over matter. The starting point definitely doesn't lock classes out of certain weapons. |

There have been very powerful builds with crossbow sorceress and spellcaster mercenary, so it's definitely not 'nearly impossible'. The beginning might be a bit harder, sure. But there are ways to get around that as well.
I'd also argue that your suggestion would actually reduce build diversity, because then you could just use the same passive tree every time you use the same weapon, instead of having to get creative. |
