The RMT in POE2 is out of control

"

If you must know, I had "put myself on their list" after accidentally listing a near-perfect rolled tangletongue for 3ex. It was pretty early in the league and I had no idea how much this item was worth and how 60% of players were already sitting in 1 build. After getting what must've been the longest spam wall in my poe experience I finally sold that accrused spear for 2 div and got my first rmt whisper soon after.

Point was, spam exists, and automated infrastructure exists. If you still wish to believe I am making it all up, suit yourself.

Rob_Korn gave me a point of view on the issue that made me reevaluate my position and realize I was wrong. I was also wrong to say you were making it up and I apologize for that as well.

I used to make statements like that, but the reality (probably) is: Some people just have the money and don't care. According to a german gamestar video 75% of whales are just people with far above average access to money where it just doesn't matter. A few thousand dollars is nothing to them, as their family is just rich etc... And the gaming industry is fishing for those whales to the point where it gets totally out of hand.

The other 25% has a big problem, but that gets neglected by the industry for the most part. It took a game with horses, where little white girls got scammned big times for the justice system to do anything so far over here, hehehehe

The whole industry needs to change. At this point it's not even conspiracy to assume that a certain chinese company is big time involved in RMT and jsut considers it legitimate buisness.

Maybe there is a slight chance for it to be shut down in europe someday, certainly not in the us...It's the only chance for the industry to change. Forced by law. Whoever uses qualified psychologists to exploit people is a criminal, not a buisnessman.

There are two major issues I have with GGG's monetisation practices.

1. Supporter Packs
While supporter packs are a great way to, well, support GGG, that they are nothing else than FOMO packs is something I would like to see regulated.

2. Mystery Boxes
While they changed it, so you cannot get a skin you already have twice, it still is aimed at ppl who have low self-control with the "If I buy 3 boxes and get what I want from the box series, I spent less money", or in other words - gambling.

ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED!? 🙉🍌
Do you guys realize that 1 Divine is 115 Exalts now? do you really think ppl grind so much to get it? sadly most RTMing it.
And it’s not even the weekend.
My bet is it’ll hit 200 Exalts soon, especially with how gear prices keep going up.
For example, a unique item I’ve been saving for over 2 weeks started at 10 Div, and now it’s selling for 33 Div—even after it got corrupted and became useless.
GGG has good devs, but they’re missing the point.
Honestly, I don’t even see the point of logging in right now.

It's just not worth it because:
Gear prices are insane
There’s no real crafting system
Progression doesn’t exist
Only one viable build really works

Every time I log in, I lose as much XP as I gain.(skill or build issue)
For me, it’s just not worth the time anymore.

The bottom line is I've been playing more than most people have and I haven't received a single RMT message at all. If it was out of control, I would be getting random messages with the amount of time I've played the game. I've played many games where it was actually out of control and know what it is like.

Like I said, if someone is getting spammed, they EITHER bought something, OR they somehow got themselves put on a list somehow.

People are answering as if I said the only way is that they bought something and even though they have the part where I said "somehow got themselves put on a list" in the actual quote, that they are responding to as if I didn't say it and said buying something was the only way.

If you are going to reply to me, please read what I said before doing so. That is not too much to ask.

I can bet i've played more than you and i've gotten the message a few times. Not as often as people make it sound, more like once or twice a day. They don't seem to spam you and i usually ignore the account. It's nowhere as bad as people make it sound, but you don't have to buy currency to get whispered in game.

Grind so much? Takes me 30 minutes to farm that one divine, what are you on?
