I don`t understand WHY ARE PEOPLE COMPLAINING about difficulty so much...

i havent seen one post complaining about "difficulty"... the problem is friction... johnathon even admits thats what hes doing. game is all friction with very little reward. friction is not difficulty. its lazy design to make u play more. most players arent stupid. when something is arbitrary just to cause friction its felt. every time. hence the dwindling player base.

I think you guys have a point with the "friction" part. Let`s hope this will be fixed and the game will still have some difficulty.
(POE2 should not be POE1.5, GGG, keep it slower, more tactical)
200+ hrs now and still the game does not look Difficult. :)

HOWEVER, game needs improvement on a lot of aspects. I`ll make a separate post now.

I have 60+ hours so far in the new league and I like the difficulty. It`s nice to finally have a game where you need to think and pay attention.

I fear that, with the loot update, it won`t feel that good to find an item anymore.

Of course, it has some other things which should be changed/improved (like Trade, crafting, UI, etc), but difficulty should not be one of them.

Play a experimental build and you'll find out.

Try to play a sorceress using spark or some other lighting skill to proc freeze via the passive node drenched. Should be possible. Should be fun. It's not.

You have e to remember not everyone uses build guides or PoB. The game is essentially locked behind those two things right now. The average player cooking up a build will fail most of the time. So play the game once like an average player and try to make a build off an interaction that "sounds cool" like the one above and see what happens to the difficulty

Obviously no PoB or build guide. Just send it not actually doing anything to measure DPS just take node that "synrgize" with your idea. It probably will suck no matter how many you take.

Play HCSSF for 1000 hours. Then post. Otherwise it's useless.
Die 10+ times to some random shit on-death or just on-ground you can't see. One shot and restart again.

Play, then post.

Ah, forgot: play the only one good build -- LS.

I used to play HC. Don't do it, I highly advise against it in the current state of the game, unless losing your sanity is something you enjoy.

Playing HC in a game that is currently in an alpha state where we are given access to playtest the thing because clearly they haven't, is not going to be agreable and you will get burnt out.

Please, stop saying "we are given" "to playtest". We paid for it! Not even when buying EA key, but even when we pay many years ago for future development of this game and series!

IMO, the current team, that released PoE2 and still working on this game -- doing their WORK (paid by us -- supporters!!!) very bad!
I love PoE. And that's why it hurts me... Making very sad.

Work is slow and bad full of wrong designs, decisions, slow.

Baldur's Gate 3 was in early access for four years. If PoE2 gets out of early access in two years, I will consider it an absolute win.

It won't matter if they don't make solid changes before release. It could release in two years and still be horrible.

Indeed!

The comparison with BG3 EA is ludicrous at best. Larian studios took the EA process serious and fixed the game based on the feedback received, eventually the game released was what everyone praised.

PoE2 on the other hand... well... people calling/believing it is an EA might be fooling themselves, asides from the classes, ascendencies, weapons and second half acts... this game is considered finished by GGG.
