Change the Mirror of Kalandra
" Totally backward. Why in the world would they sell things SLOWER because the things they need are more expensive lol? If anything they will craft and sell things far faster in order to get as much currency as quickly as possible. Look at McDonalds. Walmart. Big sales are NOT what make money....smaller sales are. Just....think about it for more than a minute. Your entire post is just the exact reverse of what would happen. Excluding other shenanigans such as inflation, whenever an "expensive" item takes its place in the hierarchy of the market, everything underneath that item gets cheaper. Period. Because if it were too expensive, people would rather just save up for the BEST rather than second best. Not only that, but supply of second best would be that much greater BECAUSE crafting for the highest becomes that much more profitable. As such, failures get sold more frequently. Crafters would craft more mirror tier items because they would have to, and therefore end up with far more sub-tier items for sale. More supply = lower prices. The demand remains nearly the same: there already aren't that many players clamoring for the mirror echelon. And at that level, there is hardly a difference between 100 divines mirror cost, and 500. Like an extra day of play for that crowd Think in terms of cars irl: a ferrari costs 200k, a toyota $30k. Raising the price of the Ferrari from 200k to 500k or even a million would have absolutely no effect on the Toyota @ 30k. Nor would it REALLY have any effect on Ferrari either, as the sale price would reflect the constant market demand and even out. Now if Ferrari OWNED Toyota, they'd be much more incentivized to sell and craft MORE of the lower priced items alongside their Ferraris because they'd only be able to rely on less sales (yet BIGGER sales) of the OG Ferraris Starting anew....with PoE 2 Last edited by cowmoo275#3095 on Jun 5, 2025, 11:35:46 AM

That is not how it works and I can explain why (and if you pay attention you will see this for yourself in game).
When the thing you want is expensive (say 10+ mirror) the incentive is to "tighten the belt". This means 1. buying less upgrades and 2. a preference for selling slower at a higher price than selling fast and lowering the price. The typical behavior in an economy where things are affordable is to trade a lot. Buy more, sell more - because money doesn't matter as much. You're not so careful with your money, you can afford to indulge or be reckless, take a risk, etc. If, say as an example, you drop a 3d item, you'd be far more inclined to sell it for 2d just to sell it fast. You'll think yeah whatever it's just one div. But when you're poor every div matters. Suddenly that 5 div risky craft isn't so appealing anymore because you might lose 5 div so you'll think "yeah...maybe I'll just buy it for 7 instead of risking 5". This net results in one less item on the market. That's lower supply which essentially means higher prices. This is the typical real life behavior - when the economy is bad and people are poorer they end up spending less money, buying less and cheaper stuff, and this in turn hurts all businesses. And this gets even more impactful in the case of high tier crafters, who make significantly less profit from their crafts - so there will be less items to sell because most of them just won't bother anymore. A high end craft is hardly profitable if you can't endlessly mirror it, and other money making strategies become far more appealing. As such, high end items would become even MORE expensive because of their scarcity. Crafting a high end item is a huge investment that carries a huge risk, and I'm telling you for sure a lot of people who do it for profit now simply wouldn't bother to craft for anything other than themselves anymore. Mid tier crafters would still craft of course because it's cheap, fast, and easy, but since they would essentially be poorer (with their upgrade being less affordable), they would raise their prices as well. Your comparison i.e. Ferrari vs Toyota bears no relevance here, because a car is a necessity/basic commodity for most while the Ferrari is a luxury most people aren't interested in. It's the same case for idk, very expensive watches and stuff like that - it's not something you aspire to, just something you buy if you really don't know what to do with your money anymore. Whereas in POE endgame gear is the ultimate goal. Everybody wants it, and whoever can afford it will buy it, because that's progression. If you don't upgrade, you have no progression. Everyone who can afford mirror-worthy gear will buy mirror worthy gear. Whereas I for example if I had the money to buy a Ferrari, I would not. Things irl are impacted by a fluctuation of supply and demand. Whereas in the case of POE, supply would fluctuate but demand for these items never will - which is why you would end up with an imbalance. If you're one tier below me on a "richness" scale, the poorer I am the poorer you are - it's a very simple fact. Last edited by Felix44#4475 on Jun 5, 2025, 12:07:34 PM

" So you know how much that will increase the price of mirror tier items right? People won't be able to profit off of mirror crafts anymore, people wont be even crafting them as much even unless they are making one for themselves, you pay a mirror and a fee of 50-100divs, with a mirror nerf the price would increase up to 10+ mirrors because some items are ridiculously expensive to craft, which would mean you are removing a bunch of players from pushing their gear further which also means you have less players playing because they will quit early due to not being able to afford items that were affordable before, no not a good idea, might as well nerf reflecting mist next and fracturing orb |
