... Bravo sir... bravo...

I really should have specified "Self-cast" Scorching ray there.

Buffing scorching ray of immolations damage by ~20% isnt suddenly going to make unusable garbage skill into playable. Sure that might be a buff for someone playing RF, but I would rather play the scorching ray as the main skill.

My fiance would agree wholeheartedly to this. He really loves Scorching Ray, but it fell off hard not long after the gem was introduced to the game. He doesn't want to play RF with SR support, he wants to main SR and as it currently stands, it's simply not worth using under any circumstance.

I played SR long time ago so my memory is murky but:
- SR debufs stack. so you go multiple totems and the single target is actually decent
- clear was the problem. or rather AI of the totems. it was very dangerous to trigger breach, even strongboxes were dangerous

Chieftain (for 500% explosions) or Hiero (for extra totems and totem placement speed) seem to be playable options. esp with things like flamewood and Searing Bond being quite synergistic.

it wont match 'meta' build in clear, far from it. but i see no reasons it cannot be a decent starter: it is decently defensive and the single target is acceptable - both necessary qualities of a proper starter

I should clarify on this: My fiance wants SR to be strong enough to stand on its own as self-cast.

Personally I don't mind the totem strat. I've seen a few build guides on youtube that demonstrate how devastating such a build can be (if you can look past the AI). However, my fiance doesn't like the semi-passive play of totems and minions.

And if we're talking self-cast woes, SR is definitely one of the worst spells to main.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!
