" We won't be getting slop, most likely. What we will get is GGG and other developers using AI to perfectly "carrot on a stick" you to keep you hooked. It'll learn your patterns, it'll recognize that your atlas, most used scarabs and fragments mean you're most likely seeking X, Y and Z items. It will adjust, on the fly, your drop rates just enough to keep you playing, to keep you on the hunt for that "perfect" drop. You won't get *THE* item(s) you want, but you'll get items good enough to keep you playing because you can sell them and other shenanigans of that sort. |

Diablo 2 did not have that kind of ai and it kept people hooked. Quiet frankly i do not think this kind of ai is nessecary in the arpg buisness.
Rng based on a deck of cards or a dice keeps people hooked it is not rocket science :) Hadnmade design is more important on top of the rng carrot :) regards |

" It's not about whether it's needed. It's about how easy it is to implement. Create a basic RNG algo and let the AI alter it when/where needed from there. |

+1
Would be a cool way to get people to engage more with the lore instead of reading 2 km of text in-game or listening to hours of dialogue. And it would be a positive use of AI to enhance our experience of the game too. |

" Lore and AI hallucinations regarding lore both - with no obvious way to distinguish between the two. |

" I'm just saying it would be way better to have an actual in-game thing rather than have to rely on random videos outside of the game. Videos aren't really a solution, just an alternative for people who really wanna know the lore. Nothing wrong with that and its great they exist, but also not everyone will want to listen to hours of videos explaining the lore. Some want to experience and appreciate it as they play the game. I just think it would be better to implement this into the game itself and get more people engaged and interested in the story and characters. And AI could be a wonderful tool to help with that. Maybe in 1-2 years after it evolves just a bit more and starts being used more and more in everyday life. |

"Someone who doesn't read texts in-game, skips voiced dialogues or doesn't click on environmental tablets/scriptures/poems et cetera isn't interested in lore. Even less so if having a Youtube video in the background isn't an option either. Clearly the interest isn't there then - and no amount of AI slop would change that. So no, again, hard pass. |
