Let’s have a respectful discussion about the experience penalty upon death.

I'm not going to argue with an AI spitting out text walls.

So I will reiterate:

Level 100 is a trophy. It is unnecessary to complete a build. It is unnecessary to complete the game's pinnacle content. As such, a player should have to demonstrate their mastery of the game to reach it. This can be game mechanics, economic mastery or good-old-fashioned skill.

Trophies given freely have no value.

And i will reiterate, level 100 is not a trophy, it is not an achievement to get level 100 in this game. The only thing it requires is the willingness to intentionally limit yourself to content that is so far beneath you that you can ignore the random oneshots.

So the upsides of the XP penalty are: none, i have not seen a single coherent argument for why it should stay

The downsides are: It makes people stop playing the game, it frustrates people to no end and only serves in wasting your time.

So why keep a mechanic that provides exactly NOTHING?

You say AI isn’t a problem, but clearly it’s bothering you.

Many people here write hoping GGG will read their posts. That’s why I came here too. But to post here, we have to write in English. Posts in other languages just get deleted.

Even English speakers struggle to get their opinions across to GGG—so what about people who speak other languages? Are we supposed to spend years learning English just to give feedback to GGG?

AI is just a translation tool. Nothing more.

And before you write your own opinion, could you please read other people’s posts first? You’ll see this isn’t just about reaching level 100.

Whether someone reaches level 100 or not doesn’t matter. I never said it should be made super easy.

I’m tired of repeating the same thing. Please read the earlier posts and think about what people are actually saying. Please.

If it's not difficult, please explain to me the issue?

If you want more engagement, I would suggest writing the content yourself. Very few really want to have a debate with an AI. Translation is one thing, having Grok spit out text-walls is something very few people are going to take seriously.

You had time to stack flashy badges on your profile, but apparently no time to develop basic empathy for others.

What you just said is blatantly racist. I told you I needed a translation because I’m not a native English speaker, and you ignored that and compared me to a chatbot.

This has nothing to do with gaming. It’s outright disrespectful and goes far beyond petty internet arguments.

I used to think this game was just full of elitists showing off their skills, but now I see that some people carry their superiority complex into every part of their lives — even to the point of being racist — and they bring that same toxic mindset into the game as well.

Keep excluding others like that. It won’t be long before POE gets a reputation as a game for privileged bigots whose greatest life achievement is a computer game.

If I remind you of Grok, maybe you should go buy some of Musk’s stocks and focus on making money instead.

You said no one cares about AI-generated walls of text? Funny how you understand insults just fine.

If you're so proud of the game, why don't you just go play it.

People here aren't discussing to ruin the game — they're trying to make it better.

You probably didn’t even read my post. But if you did, you'd know this debate isn't just some black-and-white argument about removing penalties.

And this isn’t about forcing GGG to remove all penalties either.

Freedom of expression — the very values you all keep shouting about. We were just sharing opinions, and actually doing so respectfully.

Until you arrogant supremacists barged in, preaching doctrine and disrespecting others.

So if you don’t like what’s being said — just leave.

Those who care will keep talking. And it’s GGG, not you elitists, who’ll decide whether to apply those ideas to the game.

So it's racist to be fine with an exp penalty on death?

"Mr. Bilbo Baggins... enough... is enough..."

/e slips on the ring
i think that the majority force behind people being so vitriol around this topic is that if removed, they (enthusiastic defenders) are loosing something that makes them 'better' than the rest. and that always hurts

what is lost in the discussion is that most of the 'elites' play no-brainer copy-pasta builds that play themselves and the majority of people who would rather see this system go walk their own build paths

the stratification of builds in POE is a fact and for people who never play anything but T0 builds it is difficult to understand the game seen from somewhat less meta perspective

deletion of xp penalty would not make people 'zerg content' - you get 6 portals. if quintuple ghosted essence killed you twice you wont 'zerg' it - it will kill you four more times. game is kinda binary in what you can or cannot surmount

all it would do is raise the 'stopping point' for cassuals from like 85 to maybe 88. you wont get to 100 dying 6 times every pack

on the other hand - existence of XP rotas that will bring ANY garbage build to 100 over a day or two makes this entire '100 is for elites' point kinda bs

great thing - bosses no longer have xp penalty. and that is a f.. great feeling if you want to practice. you are already paying with fragments, having to wait till full level to try a new boss was kinda 'late 90's' to be honest
