Bots and Botting
If that is the case, I probably read through the threads too fast before and didn't notice the post(s) by the developers on this issue (I apologize).
Kindly share the evidence/particular link(s) to the thread(s) for the rest of the community. Thanks. It should be mandatory for players to have a high level character (88+) and have done the highest level content before they are allowed to post comments about end-game content, end-game balance, and what's "OP"

Sadly I wish the search function would be better, cause it's a hassle searching through all of them.
Trying to dig through my memories on this, is hard too :< If I can remember at least which dev it was, it would be easier :/ EDIT: I think the thread title didn't have the word 'bot' in it, but 'hack' instead. So maybe searching through that way might work... Sweeping Maid Last edited by nzrock#3291 on Jul 11, 2012, 7:42:45 AM

" I hated that aspect of WoW. WoW is an MMORPG, not an ARPG: none of its design belongs in this game (or a Diablo game, for that matter). Bind-on-pick-up and auto-pick-up are boring as hell, and would be cutting off the nose to spite the face. |

If you want an easy way to find the Devs opinions, do a search for bots (I just followed nzrock's link on the first page of this thread), click on a thread, then in the address bar remove "highlight/" and replace with "filter-account-type/staff"
Examples: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/10686/highlight/ Change to: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/10686/filter-account-type/staff How Fusings Work: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/38585/page/3#p1451934

Honestly there is no need for any bot programs in PoE. The mechanics are already in place as part of the actual game to ruin the game's economy with in 2 months from when open beta starts.

Just going to add my two cents:
The value of orbs fluctuates far too much for 'gold' farmers to sell them off third party websites. An exalted might be worth, say, $5 one day, then there could be an influx of exalted orbs in the server, and the value drops. The same can be said for other MMO's and item buying. The items value changes constantly in most MMO's, so people just sell the gold. But here, the currency are fluctuating items. tl;dr third party websites will not keep up with price fluctuations on different servers. " Values don't really change all that much once an economy has been there for a while. Unless of course the community is very small, but then there won't really be bots anyway. ''Stand amongst the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters.

I really enjoy PoE alot as do alot of other people. But I seriously do not see this game getting overun by bots at all. First off they have to get randomly dropping orbs to sell most of which the most common ones arent even gonna sell example (portal and identify). Its not gonna be near as profitable farming this game as per se D3 where gold drops every single fight. Its just alot more work for them to farm for stuff that isnt even a guarantee drop. Second and i think most importantly. This game has a decent player base but it is by no means large nor is going to get that way at open beta sure its gonna draw more attention but its not gonna hold it sadly enough. Botters are alot more interested in what they have going on in D3 cause Blizzard simply doesnt give a damn and are freely letting them bot why come to Path of Exile to be banned over and over and farm orbs that are completely random drops when they can stay on D3 and farm gold that drops every single fight and not worry about repurcusions from the company. Last but definately not least. PoE if released in August (they have a lot to get done on there plate sure hope it makes that time frame ) has some pretty hefty competition to deal with in player base. Guild Wars 2 is gonna draw in alot of people. Me in particular i could care less didnt like the first one and probably wont even try the second one but it will still take quite alot of people at launch and its gonna be a pretty sizable target for botters also. Torchlight 2 well honestly after todays announcement of them being at Pax with TL2 in September who knows when the hell they plan on releasing that game cause they sure wouldnt go to Pax with a game they already have released lol. Anyways just my 2 cents but if i was a botter which im not lol i honestly would have no interest in PoE whatsoever considering i have D3 with no worry of banning or GW2 coming out soon also.

While I agree with most of what you're saying, what makes you think botters would be banned non stop in PoE?
