Fetid Pool worst quest ever

Killing the necromancer is one thing, but wiping out the mobs is a pain in the ass. It doesn't happen often, but every once in a while I just *cannot* find the last one. I literally scour the area and still no go. I even used a decoy totem in the chance it might detect it when I missed!

It's just a waste of time for the reward. The rhoas are hard enough. It's unproductive, and disrupts the flow when you're just trying to progress. The goal of killing every mob just doesn't seem to fit in with the rest of the game philosophy, either.

Just my $.02

should be changed to 0/10 Rhoas slain.
On complete: Kill 0/20 Zombies in Fetid Pool. Reward 5 Cracked Bones.
On complete: Kill the Summoner in Fetid Pool. Reward 2 Lost Heads.
On complete: Reward a Rotted round shield.

I'm always doing this quest in the end of act 1, no matter the difficulty.
You don't need to accomplish it to keep progressing.
I have no major problems to find all the mobs and it bothers me little to nothing but if ppl are so fustrated with this they could shorten it's area a little just keeping the same quantity of mobs...

No, please. I hate these kind of quests.

Imho, add map markers for the monsters when there are 5 left as well as retain the message count down that appears when there are 5 left.

I'm pretty sure it was a joke.

Yea every now and then I get that one mob that is hiding really good...I always manage to find it but it takes TOO long. Rewards should have some benefit this early in the quest, not many people respec that one point. I think maybe a good lowbie support gem is in order :P
The quest is OK, IMO.
For some strange reason, though, I sometimes miss the "quest completed exclamation mark" and go on looking for those monsters that are no longer there.:)

Edit:
Moreover it is an homage to Diablo II. Remember the first quest "Den of Evil"? Kill all the monsters in the den. This could be tedious as well, especially when they hadn't fixed the bug with resurrected Fallens which would make it impossible to kill all the monsters.

it's a tribute to a D2 quest.

...still annoying indeed...

The Den of Evil was generally mapped as a set of tunnels that funneled a lot of enemies into very predictable areas and allowed you do one circular sweep of the area for the clear. The Fetid Pool is one big oval and you can lap the area once or twice and miss one stubborn zombie somewhere.

The Den of Evil also gives you a skill point. The Fetid Pool gives you respecs. The Den of Evil was easy in any difficulty because everyone was slow moving and relatively trivial. The Fetid Pool can spawn a bunch of undead rhoas near the entrance and gang charge you when you enter.

There's a lot of reasons to not even do the Fetid Pool in higher difficulty until you actually need the respec points. There was little reason not to do the Den of Evil. Their mechanics are similar but D2 did it better.
Exactly. That's why I think the quest is OK.
You don't need to do it.
