Toggle for items to drop identified
" Man if they gave it specifically to ssf I might actually play ssf for that reason alone. And when a lot of people who still want multiplayer are playing ssf just for the pre-identified drops, complaints about people wanting group self found will skyrocket, alongside the inevitable rants of people who want identifying removed from trade league too. |

You can stop bumping.
Maybe you will never get it, but item dropping unidentified is the whole point. If you want item bases, you need to adjust your loot filter and pick up every single item and identify it by hand. That is the deal. |

I agree that something needs to be done about identification and the amount of loot that drops unidentified. Seeing multiple inventories full of unidentified rare/magic items each map and expecting players to either use scrolls on each or worse take them back to the hideout to bulk identify is just silly.
What is this mechanic supposed to do in the first place? I would assume it is to get people excited for the chance of something good. That chance is so extremely low, even with T4/T5 items, that I personally don't bother with anything less. I think there were a bunch of good suggestions already. Just throwing some more into the room: - drop identified items unless it's T4/T5. - add a new affix that gives a chance to automatically identify items. - make more useful affixes drop (less T1 accuracy/light radius) on T4/T5 so at least these become more exciting to pick up. - remove some of the quantity and instead add a higher chance to drop exceptional bases - remove identification all together. |

" It makes zero sense, all you need is item bases, it doesn't matter if an item is identified or not, becasue it will be a garbage with 100% chance. All items I have, were bought or crafted. Not only that, I also ended up having 3 mirrors in currency tab after playing around 150-200 hours. And I did not pick up a single item from the ground which was worth more than 1d. Again, you don't need items from the ground, they are trash. Even tier 5 are trash, forget about good drops. Go crafting. |

" A good t1 with a good t3 affix on a good magic base will be worth something. Literally no reason that item to not be dropped identified. Whites can be expensive, and all they do is offer you the ability to gamble like a degenerate with perfect augs and transmutes. Fuck that. Having items drop identified will offer the posibility to have extremely valuable item drops and some not so valuable item drops that would otherwise be more expensive than they should, because the only way they enter the game is the way you described. |

I'm not against the idea of items dropping identified but I'm not sure it will solve anything.
You want to see these magic items with good affixes as they are valuable... if every item like this is now picked up, across the 10s of thousands of total player hours per day wont they quickly lose all value? You're also putting a massive burden on both loot filter writers and loot filter processing to handle all of the "valuable" combinations. (And no, loot filter writers won't HAVE to add this, but as soon as one does, they all will or risk everyone switching and their filter becoming irrelevant). Again, not saying it's a bad idea... I would love it when I'm playing in SSF. Just not sure whether it would provide the financial boon it seems it may on the surface. |
