Player count since September 25th

Usually player counts are a good indicator of player reception and feedback, Prior to the 25th and 0.31 the game would have 100,000 concurrent players at all times according to steam charts. Since the 25th it started dropping untill around October 5th when it hit kinda its lowest point and now hovers between 40,000 in the daytime and 70,000 in the evening/after people get off work

Prior to the 25th, the lowest concurrent number of total players = 102,000
After the 25th, started dropping substantially
After October 5th, Stabilized with lowest amount concurrent of players = 38,000
As of Today, Lowest concurrent number of players = 29,992...

So out of the 100,000 concurrent players, 0.31 lost 70,000 of them?
a 70% drop in concurrent players... at evening sure its only 50% of player base.

Before releasing such drastic game changing updates MID-LEAGUE, Maybe release a poll? a poll asking the community, Not just looking at major streamers and content creators as that's 1% of the community, Maybe look at and ask community as a whole? So many players have so many different things to say, but that's why this game is in early access that's why we've all paid into it, we enjoy the core concept and want to help it become something so much greater! and we paid into that! not a pointless chore :( like early access helps the developers shape their vision, consult the community first with more polls or ideas of what's going to be implemented and then get our general consensus, maybe even put messages in global that there's a poll in the form, Or maybe even poll in game?

They didn't need a poll.

They should however, have been more transparent about the changes. Like the ones to minimap icons, and tablet drop rates.

More patches please. Don't do polls. Don't worry about nonsense statistics when you have all the data. You're professional developers. People on these forums can't even beat bosses or do six map mods.

You're on track GGG. Refine it.

Sunday 14 (before patch): 190k peak players
Sunday 21 (before patch): 140k peak players
Sunday 28 (before patch): 100k peak players
Sunday 5 (after patch): 80k peak players
Sunday 12 (after patch): 60k peak players

It's funny that you talk as if 0.3.1 is the reason for player drop. Either you're trying to mislead someone or you're just searching for something to confirm your bias while not really putting any thought into it

The game has less players because there's nothing to do. There's no end game yet, people who played regularly have done everything they can possibly do since like a month ago and now the only people playing are those who either try to find something to do even without a real end game, casuals or people who joined late

Regardless, at this point in 0.2 we had like 10k peak players on steam. That's also counting that the chinese server wasn't separated yet so those number in 0.2 also counted chinese players

Path of Exile 2 has more players than:
Warframe - A f2p looter shooter that's basically a competitor on the market
Borderlands 4 - A new looter shooter which has dropped to 40k players in a month
New World Aeternum - In the recent hour from this post it has gotten a revival of 40k+ players, let's see how long it will take for it to die again
Path of Exile 1 - It seems 2 killed the long lived king, and it takes 2 months to die from every new league

There are so many popular games now and everyone finds their own niche from them, by modern standards having 30-50k players is very healthy for an always online game.
One trick Champion, borked builds and a general meme.

Yea. It will probably keep dropping a bit more, which is alright, but the op is completely misleading
It's just no need for me to play. i think 0.3.1 is patch good comparing to pre-patch experience, yet its still trash game experience.
I did all i want in a week in trade, i struggle in ssf for month+ - now i drop this s**t until 0.4 or even 0.5. ~100h SSF, 2 chars 94 and 90 lvls, seen citadel once, seen one cash unique map, lots of unpathable (even looking pathable) maps, dropped zero perfect exalts. I'm done.

minions unplayable on budget, craft for only for 1% players, iir & party bonuses sux, balance non existant. Items op, especially weapon attack prefixes. Movement speed not fixed (removed from the game) also.

Lots of people here trying to confirm them bias yes.

People i see or talk to around, out of this forum, enjoy a lot the new patch.
Myself too.
The one who stopped did it because they've done everything or are just trying new games out.

They're not big streamers or the 1% as everybody here like to claim also.
They're simple players having fun.

I'm sure GGG have them own stats. I'm also sure they never read this forum seeing how people talk to them with such a lack of respect and common sens.

SSF player
Patch seems fine to me, I stopped because kinda bored after doing it all, as the guy before me said. I am just used to PoE1 content galore, a game with 14 years of development on.

With time, I believe poe2 had what it takes to be even more enjoyable than the first. After every patch, the forum is full of doomsayers about how the game is going to die, been seeing it since poe1 closed beta, just let them share feedback, if any is good it may be taken in. (Not talking about OP, that's stats, see nothing wrong with it)
Early to bed, early to rise, fishing all day, making up lies.

Like the OP you are using absolutes when it is clearly a blend of reasons.

I have more to do, more that I had planned to do in any case, but have stopped playing since the last patch because I don't like the changes. I felt like I had a groove going and a build the way I liked it and the changes messed up that flow. Yes I could adjust, but I don't want to any more. My whole journey to level 96 was a constant adjustment and just when I got it where I felt good and like I was rocking and having fun they make changes that had a big negative impact on how I was playing. And again yes there are things I could do to adjust to the changes and still move forward, but I am just tired of getting things where I like them and then they change stuff on me.

It's early access and I accept things can change, but I am definitely one data point that stopped playing specifically because of the last patch and I highly doubt I am the one person that did.

It's not like the game is going to die because of a patch some people don't like, but it's also not crazy to think people are lying or that no one is not playing because they didn't like the patch. One thing I know about GGG is they will altar this patch too more than likely. They never seem to set and forget.
