-20% exp on death needed

You are so close to understanding why these suggestions are made. So close.

I wished people would use actual arguments instead of immediately attacking the messenger.

The argument is there is you care to leave that reasoning bubble and here it is: This is not a competitive game, you get nothing more doing something faster or slower than anyone else. Your play style or what you do in the game has no influence in anyone else’s game. Anyone that says differently is just trying to impose their will into everyone else.

I said this over and over since I can remember, “why do people care about what others do?”

Does the game need balance? Yes but in the end it’s YOU that makes the choice on how YOU want to play YOUR game.

Ok, there seems to be a bit of a misunderstanding on your end here. I don't care about what you do. I care about what the game requires me to do in order to meet its goals.

Like, your last sentence is a great summation of my confusion with you lot. On the one hand you agree that the game needs to be balanced, but then you say it doesn't matter because it's all in my head?

Make it make sense.

If you don't agree with my suggestion how to balance the game better you can disagree and argue against that, but your first moderated post, and now this one, seem to suggest the mere notion of trying to suggest better balance is somehow offensive to you.

EDIT: Getting ahead of the response here: yes, I play SSF. yes, I play HC. yes, I also play Ruthless.

i disagree with OP

we are not being punished enough.

player characters and their equipped gear should be voided on death.

This is an important topic and a discussion well worth having, especially in light of the recent nerfs to higher-end endgame strategies. I support implementing a stricter experience penalty given the already significantly reduced ceiling. Hopefully this conversation remains civil and constructive, and does not become derailed as it often does.
You've been told this countless times already but i'll tell you gain, if you feel like death isn't impactful enough, go play hardcore. If you feel progression is too fast, go play SSF/ruthless. It's YOUR choice to play easy mode with item editor. If you aren't satisfied with the outcome, correct your choices. This whole thing is entirely a YOU problem.

/edit and ofc he is playing the No. 1 meta build, so not just easy mode with item editor but also with god mode cheat active, what a farce.

I can't speak for anyone else, but personally I'd love to play this game in HCSSF or HC private leagues (I mean... I do. But I meant exclusively), but the game is balanced around SC Trade.

Therefore, any balance discussions re: SC Trade are perfectly valid.
HC does have trade and it's simply nonsensical to play a mode with item editor and then complain about progression being too easy. Doesn't really matter whether the game is balanced around the editor or not. If that was a problem he wouldn't be complaining about things being too easy in the first place. So no, it's not valid in the slightest, just like people failing the game with shit builds this is just a matter of people making shitty choices and complaining about the outcome.

So, I went to read my first reply to see where the issue was and I found it. It seems that the quote that I used didn’t went through. Sometimes if you quote someone it doesn’t show in your reply box.

I was replying to Nomancs’ idea of the game being too easy and people with glass cannon builds breezing through things.

I would like the -10% exp to apply on all lvls, instead of just lategame. But otherwise they've increases loot losses for death. Good enough for me. And this league I'm playing HC. That's the other way to prevent glass cannons.

You can also tie your hand behind your back, but it's not a requirement to clear the game. The challenges presented by the game should be, well, challenging. That keeps the game interesting and fun.

This ties back in with my other reply to you which should have sufficiently addressed your concern to Nomancs as well, as the sentiment is the same.

Diablo3 has that for hardcore characters about 10 years ago or so, and that was really fun.
