the true issue remains - rare items you drop are COMPLETELY pointless. it is no longer an exaggeration. excluding types that cannot drop from the tree - there is ZERO reason to keep them visible

Yes that is the greatest "tragedy" of both modern POE1 and POE2 design. The "loot" is just a pile of currency fed into a gambling simulator ("crafting") each gated by horrible RNG resulting in nothing but disappointment in which you conclude "so my last 10 hours of playtime were for literally nothing".

Alternatively you pick up a mass of rare reaver axes from the ground and their average rolls are:

+2-3 cold damage
+light radius
+50 accuracy
+2 life per kill

Why do these drops even exist? So your brain still believes you are playing an ARPG.
