You aren't thinking this argument through at all, are you. QWOP is a free game, PoE isn't; GGG is a business enterprise meant to make profit off of a commercial product. If people stop throwing money at it, it'll die. The word "free" in its promotion messages is an expected ploy needed for its business model which requires people to be hooked before they start sinking money into the game. You may want to ask those people with "Supporter" badges how free it is.

Now that we got that out of the way, consider the reason people pay for PoE in the first place: it's because they feel potential in this game, because it gives them what other games failed to, because it's rewarding to play, and so on. They do have a moral right to complain about a patch that goes contrary to any (and for some, all) of that. You, on the other hand, don't have a moral right complaining about these people, let alone shaming them.

I agree they shouldn't nerf melee builds into the ground(especially before the promised 0.11.0 melee buff), but saying that curses or a single item were the only way melee could get things done is just plain wrong.

Good on you, GGG! ARPGs suffer from being steamroll games where the only goal is to achieve quicker success in how you steamroll content. It's nice to have one that isn't thus.

Yay again, bosses should have had reduced effects from curses long ago. It was truly bizzare that certain monsters could easily give you more trouble than bosses because of curse immunity... otoh, I play melee, dear god why?!
You guys rock. I had just made a post about the market place WP being really dangerous for people who have bad computers. 2 days later you guys release a patch fixing it.

It's hard to not want to throw money at you guys with such good developer->player communication.

Exactly. You might also want to point out that from economical point of view there is no difference: GGG are being paid to make and maintain this game, and for the most part the money comes from people who play. No money = no game; the only variable at play here is who pays how much.

But insisting that players shouldn't step up and voice their stance on unwanted changes or lack of wanted ones in a commercial product fueled by their money is absurd, wouldn't you agree? Especially since by that point many have expressed their ideas on how to introduce such a balance change (more) properly.

If anything, people investing into reaching Whispers of Doom shouldn't be affected by efficiency reduction at all if GGG wants anybody to get that keystone at all.

lol at people complaining about the curse nerf as if it was gamebreaking, or something worth quitting over. Bunch of babies, if you want to quit over a needed balance change, clearly along the lines of bringing melee (hopefully by 0.11) up to the same level of viability with other builds without the need for cheesy strategies involving curse stacking, then go ahead.

Noone cares, the game won't fail because of it, and you will be back the very next day anyway. :D

This nerf is going to be game breaking...the reason enfeeble was so good was because without it you can often get one shot, even if you have high HP. The solution now is going to be to stack even more HP/ES and to get kaom's heart.

This is a terrible change that will probably kill hardcore even more.
