patch 0.4 40% less monster and 40% increased loot is not same amount of loot!

The content reveal says the number of monster is decreased by 40% and loot is increased by 40% but that does not yield the same amount of loot as before.

60%(monster) * 1.4(loot increase) = 84% not 100%!

Need to boost loot by at least 67% if decreasing monster by 40% to yield same amount of loot.

extra monsters or the lack thereof are a more/less multiplier
Every time they have tweaked monster density they also tweaked drops to compensate. And every time it feels like far less loot drops. I don't see how this will be any different.
It gets even worse if the new modifier on tablets turns out to be additive with those 40%. Before, the quantity from tablets was multiplicative with the amount of monsters.

Not sure if you even understand what you are saying but it this instance the op made a simple assumption that was wrong and I corrected him.
It's basic math. It doesn't matter if it's a more or increased multiplier.

Or maybe it's the other way around. You do not know.
They changed pack size a modifier that wasn't good for loot into effectiveness which now increases loot. How does effectiveness work? Is there a hidden coefficient (probably yes)?

Just wait and see. Nonetheless op is completely wrong. It's just basic math.

Well, did they say anything about exp and exp loss? I think even reaching level 90 will be a miracle :D
I believe this is what the patch notes says

"Maps no longer scale pack size as you increase in tier"

This means the pack size is the same from Tier 1 maps to Tier 15+

Now number of packs haven't been mentioned.

And the pack size increases that can be rolled have been disabled

Now what is up in the air is does IIR apply to each monster and the 40% increased loot mean you get a base 40% IIR?

True, it is not the same. They want to reduce currency drops.

Note that 4 more items does NOT unlock more currency drops. The monster have certain slots for (1) armour item slots, (2) sockets, jewells, (3) rings, belts, (4) Gems, gemcutter, and (5) currency gold, (6) currency chaos orbs.

If you gain one currency slot by 1.4 loot increase but LOOSE three (3) for less loot monster, you loose more currency random slots there.
