replaying the campaign would be a hard no from me

But that game is probably the easiest one Owlcat ever made. So it is still a bad comparison, lmao

And? It's still more complex than PoE 2.
It is a bit time consuming. However I realized I can just equip a Ghostwrithe and Crown of Thorns at lvl1 and have several thousand ES on literally any build throughout the campaign. Rest of slots is for whatever build I'm playing. Makes things a bit simpler when you can rush through it without worrying about defenses.
Shorten act 2 and 3 easy fix ggg

It's already less than that, if you actually play through it a couple of times I know where to go and what side quests aren't worthwhile for you.

Oh quit being obtuse. That’s not average play, that’s pretty experienced, read what I wrote.

If you want to be pedantic: It takes ME 20-ish hours to get through the campaign, I’d like it to take 12. Read the rest of what I wrote, the campaign time is not even the point.

So it takes you 20-ish hours, you want it to take 12. Most experienced players are doing it in around 10-12, speedrunners are half that...

Sounds like what you want is already available, so the problem is... (hint, it's not the campaign length).

I think the true pain point is having to do 20h of grinding often without full access to the build you want to play, getting drops you know you will outlevel soon, and not getting enough good currency drops to really craft/trade (and why bother, you’ll outlevel it soon).

I think the campaign could be left the same length if our characters leveled / progressed faster within it (and it scaled appropriately). And if the later acts could be “juiced” somehow, like maps, giving you better drops.

With a campaign this long the goal needs to be making players feel like they are working on/using their “endgame” character while still in the campaign, then its length is irrelevant. It also could lead to a much smoother transition from campaign to the true endgame.

As it stands the actual content of the campaign is good but the character progression through it feels like busywork that takes too long.

THIS! I have never thought of it like that. But if the campaign felt more like THE GAME and less like a PRE-GAME, maybe that would feel great!

I'm not sure tho about faster progression, which means more D4 direction..

Maybe instead after your first character each season, we must do the entire campaign but while being able to juice everything like endgame, and start the character at something like level 80 (or your highest level within season, capped at 70~80), no gear (you need to find/buy it on your main). Imagine going through all of it but there's loot and action and mechanics on par with your main character.

Sounds a lot of fun to experiment/experience much more of the game without feeling like wasting time. And still not a campaign skip which I do NOT want ever. And still not a boost pack or an advantage to just spam new alts. It would still be a set back compared to continue grinding with your main, just a much much smaller one that doesn't feel boring and daunting in comparison that what you're already playing with the main.

making 1 character is already pretty daunting as a casual

having to redo the campaign if you dont like your build or want to play a 2nd.. is a hard no from me

just throwing my 2 cents into the feedback void

dont get my wrong i liked the campaign but NOPE

I think there needs to be an option select after playing through the campaign once.

And they should merge two classes into one like Ranger/Huntress and Witch/Sorcerer. This way you just switch weapons and voila different abilities without starting everything all over again.

Dude, these games have a "difficulty" option. We don't all play at "Story Mode" level. There are 5 different level and a "grim mode" that let's you have just a single save-game. So yeah, you talk big but in reality, this games are best CRPG ( Classical Role Playing Game / - yeah that's with rolling dices, board like ). So in CRPG the dices are something like RNG, what u all talk about here. And they aren't that different. See? Dices = RNG , so from my point of view, these games are at some degree similar. They are both isometric, top down 3D games. The atmosphere is the same. But the combat is turn-based on one, and the other, "action" based so players just play it like a first person shooter.

Why should it be easier? Why should it be a "shortcut" for endgame?

Because it sucks.
The only reason I play the campaign is to get to the numbers. I don't care about the flashy lights, the animations, etc. I want those sweet, sweet numbers.

When doing the campaign, the story is awful, the beginning skills are awful, the dialogue is awful, the running back and forth is awful. Without any movement speed, its way more than awful.
I will admit that I am a snob when it comes to fictional storytelling. I guess I always have been and video game stories are often terrible. RDR2 comes close but even that is cringe at times.

To me, playing through the campaign is like watching one of the worst movies you've ever seen 15 times in a row.....at half speed.
*shudders
Imagine having to watch the Notebook or friggin star wars 15 times in a row every 4 months.

I just can't stand this slog anymore. This league I started the build that I tested in the end of 0.3. The build that basically getting "online" after Act 1 and keeping the pace till the endgame. I almost never rerolled this league. As I said before many many times. I playing this game since 0.1 Rerolling in 0.1 was simply fun. In 0.3 and 0.4 is not. Because spending 13-15 hours on this "infinite chilled ground" every goddamn time is pure insanity. I don't have joy playing THIS campaign. Every time I finish the campaign I've always shouting FINALLY IT'S OVER. The only time it feels good when you close to the finish in interludes. I hate Act 1, I like Act 2, I despise Act 3, Act 4 is alright tho.

I also as I've said many times here I am not doing +1 for skipping campaign but more for alternate method of leveling where you not being story gated. Like opening everything in the campaign where you can farm zones you want and go where you wanna go as long as you powerful enough for it.

Otherwise I may not consider to join 0.5 at all.

This game sometime really likes to waste your time for nothing in return.
