A Unique for lightning casters is direly needed. Let's brainstorm!
" Lulz, that's a fun idea but it has to be on a weapon to be able to switch. I like the idea to have some kind of weapon who stop you to move or just a little, like something who put you under heavy puncture or chaos degen. Or the opposite, you take damage if you don't move. " I agree with most of these points, I do have some other issues with the lightning set of skills though. As I said I have a lightning witch who is based around lightning warp and shock nova with an arc totem to clean up the stragglers. The damage is ok, I agree its not great. I was trying it out to see if the other lightning skills were viable (ie not spork) and the main problems I have found is desync and average damage. My shocknova is about lvl17 I think and is doing 4600 damage, which isnt wonderful but its not level 20 yet and the way I use it obliterates docks/lunaris/lvl68 maps etc with ease. The idea is to warp into a pack hitting everything close to you, pump a conc effect nova hitting everything in the band outside that, warp again, nova, warp, nova.. Problem is that when you target a monster with a warp, if the monster is out of sync you will be warped to its server position, not where it was on your screen, and you may or may not see yourself travel to this random location. Then because shock nova hits enemies standing in its circular band, if you are out of sync and the monsters are most certainly out of sync after a few warps, know whats really in your band or where exactly you are casting it in the first place. So its a complete mess, both skills are barely viable. I can smash a large pack of mobs within 2 warps and 2 novas, but a lot die with 1 hit, some dont. The avergae damage from those skills is all over the place. I dont know the current figures but at times its said things like deals 50-1000 damage. So I might 1 shot everything, or I might take off 15% of its health... ok, thats a little bit too unpredictable, when you add in the desync etc Im not sure these skills are really that good. And that leaves arc, which I use on a totem to clean up the almost dead monsters my desyncy shocknova just fails to hit unless I /oos to get a glimpse of whats really going on. Thats about all arc is good for, I tried it in a 5 link and it was just crap. I really like the warpnova thing, its fun and the use of warp means you dont need to move which means you can use arctic armour, stay mobile in combat and still have savage mana regen from eldritch battery. But with the way everything comes together atm fun is all it is, with discharge in its current state pretty much any other aoe spell is shit, in fact Id go as far as to say every other skill and build in the game is shit right now in comparison but weve had those threads already. Unless they increase warp and nova damage by about 1000% itll never compare. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

![]() Threw something together. I figure being Lucky with damage negates the largest downside of Lightning damage - inconsistency. Additionally it maths out to like a 25% more multiplier or something because probability, I forget the exact number (people were mathing it out when Lori's Lantern was released or whatever that ring was called). The Added Lightning is there so there's a noticeable lightning theme, sorta, and the Inc. Phys makes it a not terrible end-game staff (I actually picked the base staff with the highest variance between damage values for synergy with Lucky damage). " If no one caught it, I'm pretty sure this is meant to be used with Lightning Warp. Instead of walking you just LW everywhere xD. Although you'd have to take it off while in town. Thunderfist is pretty underrated for lightning casters. 100% increased shock duration? Yes please. |

If you need to make a unique to fix a certain playstyle then there's something wrong with this game.

" enabling new builds is exactly what uniques should be doing. However I agree, if it takes a unique just to make anything other than spork good for lightning casters theres obviously something gone wrong somewhere that needs sorted out. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)
