Blue Screen of Death with some sound cards

I get this as well, about every other day and it completely reboots my computer. I have a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD. Last time just happened and this is what it said:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3
Locale ID: 1033

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: 50
BCP1: FFFFFFFF8F9A0000
BCP2: 0000000000000000
BCP3: FFFFF80003301B38
BCP4: 0000000000000005
OS Version: 6_1_7601
Service Pack: 1_0
Product: 768_1

I'll try the --softwareaudio fix to see if that fixes it. Any other information I can provide to help get this fixed?
I had BSOD every time I hit the dark forrest. Creative Soundblaster X-Fi (somethingy at the end)

Updated sound drivers. Nothing.

Switched from the Creative to On-Board Realtek Sound.

No BSOD anymore ! Lost 30-40 fps because of the crappy Realtek drivers but meh ...

So the Soundblaster was the bad guy (In MY case), or the Soundlbaster drivers ... don't know.
Everything else works with the Soundblaster. HD-Video, Flash-Video, even multiple Streams. Games.
Just PoE sends my computer straight to blue screen in the Forrest with the Sounblaster.

Awesome Game. Back to the Forrest. (with shitty onboard audio ...)

Have you tried using the --softwareaudio in your shortcut?

This is the first game to ever give me a bsod. I have a audigy2 sound card that works great on every game I have except this game. After 2 bsod I put the --softwaresound in my shortcut and haven't had a bsod in about 5 days. There is a big difference in sound quality but I'd rather play than not play at all.
Well I have a ASUS Xonar DX and tested it with a D2X too. Latest drivers. OpenAL, DirectSound all checked and works fine with any games, but even with the additional flags --softwaresound and --gc2 PoE seems to jump up the MEMORY ladder, after starting only the CLIENT(!) not actually loggin in it takes additionally 100MB each 2 seconds, without stopping.
Just wanted to login and say that the --softwareaudio command is working for me.

I blame Creative for the problem, since this XFI has been nothing but trouble since the first moment I got it. I'd remove it, but the quality of my music would suffer greatly. At least Creative go that right.

Their drivers have been notoriously bad for many years, but I think with the XFI, they may have hit a low.

That really sucks that you've had a lot of trouble with your card, because I've had very few problems with my x-fi xtrememusic, and I've been using it for over 7 years (got it for Battlefield 2!). This game being one of those very few problems, unfortunately. I did notice, over the years, in the Creative forums that many other people have had problems with their x-fi cards for various reasons, one being a notorious crackling/popping sound, I guess I was one of the lucky ones.

Regarding this game's problem, I've been using the --softwaresound command since recieving 3 BSODs and haven't had one since.

Also having BSODs coming X-fi fatal1ty soundcard.
--softwareaudo not fixing this, 3 bsods in 2 hours, yea right...

not a slightest problem with said card outside this game though, please hurry the fix
I tried to add that registry key (DisblaXRAM 1), restarted game and... found my hardcore-char in the default league. Thank you very much :(
My lord, no matter what fix or work around I try, the PC crashes with a BSOD. As soon as I started the game I get a BSOD but I am guessing it has to do with VOIP's running in the background in conjunction with certain cards and OS.. as others have stated. It could be a combination of any of those things as well. This sucks and I wish there is a fix soon. Until then I cannot bother with this game anymore.
