Feature request - Nudity Filter

Because there is nudity in this game ?

All I see is my tincan destroying lootbags.

So upon getting to lunaris lvl 3, with rivers of blood, dead bodies and bones stacked everywhere...you came away thinking that the barely distinguishable "artistic" nudity was potentially harmful to your children?

Depends why the game is rated M and what you consider a "child".

Most of the things parents shield their children from are actually fine for a child to experience, in fact the shielding itself will cause more harm than experiencing what is being shielded form in most cases.

Children do not attribute sexuality to nudity, they do not attribute negativity to cussing, these are things we teach our children. There is no reason to shield a child from either of these things, there is a reason to teach a child the difference between acceptable and unacceptable behavior.

Nudity DOES NOT WARP CHILDREN. How you treat nudity does.

Some of it makes sense (and in fact the lack of would be nonsense) such as: Sirens, statues, corpses, zombies, barbarians, crazed humans, non-human humanoids such as the goatmen, etc. These things wouldn't exactly be constrained by our ideas of self loathing and shame and likely wouldn't even be thinking along the same lines we do at all.




But the hud is an annoyance of mine... those health/mana orbs in particular. Large screen blocking fanservice eye candy that gobble up portions of the screen.


Its not the nudity that is the issue for me (doesn't bother me at all); its that I want a hud that is transparent, purely informative, non blocking of in game visuals, small and out of the way. But its the same issue I have with the non adjustable chat window... if its not a part of the actual game world and play then it serves me no purpose to be blunt.

I rather like the HUD. Artsy chained naked girls are artsy and nice eyecandy.

Edit: I've seen what game HUDs look like without eyecandy. It is VERY boring and unfun. Some people might like minimalist I guess.

Ya, I'm definitely one of those that love a minimalist approach with a focus on the gameplay and with the hud only giving info and not acting as a barrier between me and the game world. The less between me and the game world the more immersion I can get and the more into the game I can be. I'd rather see what every mob on every part of the screen are doing all the time rather then look at a hud to be honest.


At its most extreme of why I hate a cluttered screen we can look at the wii version of rockband 3.... those lsd trip backgrounds (and small note track) detract from the gameplay immensely even if they look decent on their own as a screen saver. In that game all I would've wanted was a preview of the track and the upcoming notes and focusing on that would've made for an overall better experience even if the actual game looked less 'impressive' (with our characters band playing in the background possibly).




Then again, even though I can run at max settings I tend to run at minimal (depends on how resolution impacts gameplay) anyway because I prefer never having to worry about a potential framerate drop no matter what over a game that looks good... so my minimalist approach covers everything pretty much.
