you aren't allowed to mod the game at all, you will have to make a separate program or website[/quote]

I am curious how far players are allowed to go with this.
At the very least for in-game software, being able to have a transparent overlay, much like Counter from Wow, would be cool. And beneficial I think.

GGG is fairly lenient when it comes to stuff like this. im pretty sure that you can just PM someone from customer support with any questions anyways.
ign: hoya on hardcore
hoya is really shit at mapping
1. One key to rule them all
Bind a key in keyboard so that it will trigger all potion hot keys

2. Force server sync
Send /oos command twice a second for 5 seconds every time Cyclone casted

I am sure it will be ok. I only release free and open source software anyway. Not like I would make profit from it.
What I would LOVE to see, is a nice standalone program version of the excel DPS mod, where it would take your passive tree that you either build or import into it, you put in the stats from your gear, and it would calculate the DPS that would be listed in the in-game tooltip.

That way you can make changes in the program and theorycraft how to hit highest dps/survivability numbers without having to spend fortunes on gear to test and orbs to respec, in a nice GUI user interface.

Another idea: A build creator program. You pick class, and then plan out passive tree, it would keep track of the level by level point progression. Specify gems to use in various slot configurations, typical info requested for build threads, but would be in a nice compact file format that is easily editable and exportable for posting/updating on the forums.

In the topic where the guy wanted to remove the penises in the game, ggg staff said no modding period. Check first so you dont get banned.

Hmm. I did the second idea before with Borderlands 2. The problem is the program is only as valuable as the number of people that use it.
The dps tracker is a great idea. Getting all that in a pretty GUI. Oh man... might take some time. haha. Great ideas though.

Along with the second idea, someone had told me to add an "auto-fill" feature to my tree.
As in you create a build outside of game and the program is able to show you in game (or do it for you) what passive points to get. i didnt like the idea for B2, but PoE is much more complex. I think this may be neat

There are penises in the game? Did i read that right? Ya I guess I will have to check.
Are there forum monitors? Someone from GGG could answer this modding question for us?

Yes, but there are at least twice as many tits, so it all balances out.

Haha. where is the upvote or like button?
game modding
Web definitions
A mod or modification is the alteration of the program code of a video game in order to make it operate in a manner different to its original version. Mods can be created for any genre of game but are especially popular in first-person shooters, role-playing games and real-time strategy games. ...

So don't alter how the game works, but I can still use in-game information?
Let's say I wanted to make a DPS Report/Recount for example. It would be tracking data, not altering the game, ya?

I want an answer on this modding or no-modding thing. Out-of-game programs would be allowed either way, but there is only so many cool things then.
