Ya know how you said if there was a recipe for 1500 fusings to get a 6L? You could make it 2000 and people would still do it because the RNG is just so fucking terrible.

There is nothing wrong with the crafting..the problem is the expected outcome that people have, and the result of missjudging that outcome.

I'm saying that he should invest 1200 fusing or more, but know that that's no guarantee to get a 6L..and if he isn't happy with that thought, he should instead buy a 6L for the approx 35 exalted he wasted trying..

So you are actually admitting crafting is a waste of currency and you are better off trading. Where have we seen that before... oh right D3! And what a success that was!

PoE doesn't have a crafting system. It only has an obscene slot machine. When players realize playing the ah/trade >> playing the game, the game is dead. I guess it is only a matter of time till we burn and/or bury the remains.

No, that's not what i said. I'm stating that there's a risk involved in crafting gear..it can reward you or bite you...either way you're the one taking the risk, and if you're not comfortable with that risk..then don't do it?
The odds are well known so it shouldn' come as a suprise if you fail.

There's no risk in RPG crafting. You provide mats, you obtain item. Simple. You know what you put in, and you know what you get.

Conclusion: as Ferumbras correctly observed, PoE has but a few crafting systems, rest is gambling. GCP is a classical RPG crafting system. Congratulations to the GGG guy that managed to sneak it in with all the chaos and exalt crap.

The same goes here, you obtain fusings, you fuse, you get links...
IF your statement would be correct, then you wouldn't be crafting, you would be purchasing..and for that we have NPC's or other people who will sell you exactly what you want for a predefined cost.

Lets take D3 as an example, you provide mats, you end up with gear. That gear has variables, variables that are either good or bad. You can roll an engame (notice i said roll, not choose) item worth millions of gold, or you could be wasting your money.
Same goes for POE, you have links, that are either right or wrong, or affixes and prefixes that are either what you want/need or dont.

I understand that it's frustrating to spend 1200 fusings just to get zero of what you expected...i totally do, but you (or whoever it may be) took a concious choice to do so, and you knew beforehand that it might fail. I don't see that as being the games fault for delivering exactly what it told you it would, a chance at a 6L.

If you go in with 1200 fusings EXPECTING to get a 6L, then that's where you're wrong...the second you start EXPECTING to get to a goal where the distance to that goal isn't set..you're making a choice, and that's why i said that he could instead have spent those fusings on buying that item pre-linked, but he didn't..he wanted to get something worth alot, for alot less, and that has risks.

Let me ask you this...do you think this thread had existed if he had managed to link that in 5 fusings? would he be claiming it was unfair still? that he did it and someone else didn't?probably not, but that's human psychology 101 for you. If you expect the current setup to be something it isn't, you are going to either be very happy the day you go over that border and craft, or you aren't..easy as that..and we're gonna have theads like these until people get that.
