That would be too powerfull.
They building elemental damage of bosses arround 75%, This means, any 2.5% reduces the elemental damage by 10% Example: If you have 75 Res and an a mob hits you with 100 Lightning damage, you get 25 dmg If you have 77,5 Res-----------"--------------100------------"--------------22,5 dmg ((22,5-25)/25) = 10% less basically for each 2,5% of res. Thus, a Saffels, + new auras (3 to max) + ele adaption = 10% max ress which is equal to flat 40% damage reduction. Thats huge and thats why they nerfed purity again, imo. Honestly, i think im going to use all 3, just like i need them, which means ive to sacrifice another 4L item (gem gem gem and reduced mana). Welcome to the greatest of arenas, Duelist. I'm guessing this will push a lot of players into adding resist nodes in their passive builds. I don't like that idea, because it limits us more on variety, but then it also makes those nodes actually helpful.
I wish the best passive builds had less emphasis on defensiveness and more flexibility with interesting mechanics (like from keystones). Perhaps this balance change comes with equipment or monster changes which offset the need for the extra ele resists. I doubt it though. If we had more skill slots free, there would be the semi-fun gameplay of switching auras in or around combat, but I couldn't see running around and cycling these 3 types with the lack of buttons to press. I don't want to toggle the skill menu each time I face different elements. |

I'm pretty much gonna have all 4 auras in my off-slots.
Purity for ele weakness maps, and the rest depending on the map type+roll. |

The main problem with this idea is, that you can't easily swith a specific aura in if needed - they all require different socket colors :)
Purity is in my opinion still a usefull aura --> first it's very good at the beginning of merciless when you have bad gear and second, it's very good for using specific uniques and two handed weapons, where outherwise you can't get enough elemental resist on gear (famous example is using Kaoms heart) Purity isn't now "mendatory" any more, it has changed to a "build enabler" for unique heavy endgame builds. |

The only thing I'm really pissed about is that this nerf hits solo players and melee character the hardest- you know, the two groups that already had it the hardest.
Mind over Matter users, the only alternative to mass life/ES stacking also take the hit hard, as a loss of mitigation can easily mean their mana recovery can't keep up with damage(and if they run out of mana they just become a character with low max life waiting to die in the next big spike). The nerf is just going to hit those builds way too hard. It would be managable if the new auras had 30% commit rather then 40%(that way grabbing maybe 2 of the new auras would be realistic for most characters). Talisman softcore IGN:disappointment
