It's because you play for different reasons. It's ALL artificial. Farming a hundred hours for a Bringer of Rain is fun for me, but by more objective standards it can equally be seen as an incredible waste of time (especially if I didn't enjoy it). What does finding it do for me? It makes me go "YAY!", but that is purely ego-driven and artificial, too. Is it fundamentally different from some kid mowing the grass for an extra two neighbours so that he can afford to RMT a Bringer of Rain? It's just as earned, just in a different way.

Someone else may find farming un-fun and they just want to get to level 100, get a top-50 ladder spot without having to "work" the game (trading can turn into a full time job), or rock in PvP. Some people may simply not have the time to play dozens of hours a week, but may still want to experience the end game. Others may want to see the end game, but not spend a year playing the same game, because their backlog is huge, etc.

Me? I'm happy I found a game I can play for years, and RMTing would be like shooting myself in the foot, but I feel that makes me a minority rather than a member of the majority.

The reason you don't see supporters get banned very often for rmt is because we supported the devs precisely because the fucking game isn't pay to win.

Ok I know a Diamond supporter who bought his last star with uniques on the RMTboard.
He was always on 555.55 Fools Gold, then he jumped at ~2800 received by other unbanned RMT friends bought some uniques and is at ~2100 now.

He is even so stupid to use the same user name here and there. His username there is older.
He won't be banned because he got his high Diamond Supporter Tag.


There is even a Diamondsupporter who is selling a Bot for PoE how blatant is that?( I was like WTF when I saw the credits the first time)

GGG didn't ban 2 streamers caught using Maphack.

GGG didn't ban a streamer caught using an illegal ahk.

GGG only warns regular RMTers.

GGG warned and tempsuspended a streamer who played stupid and claimed "Neon allowed it" while several others spammed "N good [X] O nemesis currency"


GGG simply wants some high tier gamers to create an illusion the game is HC. But it would heavily ruin the HC reputation if those players all wear a banned tag.

What you want GGG to do? Ban everyone who MIGHT have been RMTing? Ban people because of screenshots that might have been faked?

What if you start in the new leagues in March, and Hillock drops a Mirror, and you get banned because people get pissed and forge a screenshot just to get you out of their way, would you still support bans without hard evidence?

I know it's shitty and all, but you just can not ban people without rock hard evidence, and if there's the slighest doubt and you ban someone although he's innocent, your reputation would go downhill with lightspeed. "PoE is a cool game, but GGG is banning everyone who's trying to build some wealth", that's what they'd say.

Quality and reputation mean everything in this world, therefore there's no good reason for GGG to not ban people who are clearly cheating, but they'd be massivly stupid to ban people without hard evidence.

Sure, evidence, I've pointed out something, if someone wants to fight RMT, he would investigate that guy, because it smells on RMT so bad that it's not even funny.

You've probably let your steam off in the wrong place, or to put it better, on the wrong quote.
