normal life leech is just totally enough. ;)
Except it's really not anymore. My Infernal Blow Witch hits an ele reflect pack, goes to half and eventually leeches back to full. With new leech, she'll hit a pack, take 10 mobs worth of damage and 1 mobs worth of leech. That's merely annoying. When an ele reflect runs onscreen midpunch, or worse runs within range serverside but not my side, that's game over. Maybe LGoH fixes that, maybe not. Maybe I'll just sell all her gear now that breakers and bor have gone legacy :/

If you oneshot yourself on single reflect you doing too much DPS, thats it and thats why we have reflect and thats why they nerf VP. Easy.

By the way: All other nerfs of max resist had the same effect: less max ress, more DMG reflected. Pretty obvious that they dont want 100k DPS builds running arround, unkillable, and faceroll their content.

The only times i killed myself with IB due to reflections it was the explosion damage that did it. With IB the actual dps doesnt matter much when it comes to reflection. The gigantic pack of monsters exploding in a split second is the problem. When i get a map with ele reflect i just switch to ground slam. Problem though is even without the map mod some rare monsters gives a reflect aura and now that is hard to avoid without carefully watching the mods of every rare mobs (which really isnt my thing :D).

LOL VP got a BUFF not a damn nerf...
true 60% reduction to leech is abit much but to be able to run VP effectively on life builds is great.

im excited about the change and have already planned a life based build with the new vaal pact... obviously i will have to plan again once the new tree is up but i will definitely be making life based with VP.

and ES is being buffed... both life and ES get a buff of some kind...
im sure the developers never meant for VP to only be viable for ES...
and now its effective for both.

btw to all those little children that keep spamming ahh man im going to quit if you dont do this and this or if this happens...

bye bye... thing is its going to be more like.. hey man.. cause im damn sure i will see you in game 3 months from now..

fucking empty words.

Could you explain how VP got buffed. Why is it more viable for life builds?

So whoever disagres with new patch changes and find that is not everything perfect, they should not post it cause the sky is blue, the grass is green and GGG is the best gaming experience ever gonna be.

Yes probably we wont quit but we can express our opinion when we find something wrong and we have to rebuild all our pssive skills, gear and dont know what else. That means starting the game from scratch and we probably have to do it over and over every 4 months.

Ye i know we are all children cause we dont like to kiss asses when we dont like something that is obviously basic to our playing game style

But I'm not a 100k dps glass cannon, I'm a 15k dps tank. With current leech I only get 1shot if its a huge mob on a -max, usually I'm smart enough to play around the reflect. But leech 2.0 means I'm taking tons of incoming damage with minimal incoming life. This has the potential to turn 30k dps into glass cannon, or it will bring about the death of AoE.

Which is probably the intent here.

So some of you really wanted them to buff everything that isn't op instead of nerfing what is?

Then what? The gets too easy and they need to buff all the monsters, which would be an overall nerf to every builds?

Nerfs are mandatory for the well being of any game. There is no way to develop a game with so many possibilities and not have to nerf some mechanics afterward. No way in hell they can achieve a perfect balance on first try.

I do am worried about the leech nerf for my 2 characters :P

actually, yes, what you mentioned would be an all around better fix.

Of course, you're 100% right about that complexity thing. I can't imagine actually trying to balance this game myself.

Lets say I don't have VP and I hit ten monsters with an AoE. I will leech my 10% or w/e from the highest hit. If I have VP, I will get only 4% of the leech, but I will get it from every monster.

When all of those monsters are hitting you back with 15% reflect, suddenly Vaal Pact looks really awesome.

Who wants to play on Standard League anyway? It's your fault that you support Standard league

Who wants? Probably people that play on a, lets assume, average daily basis of 2...3 hours, and will need much more than 4 month to be able to reach an area level of 70+?! These players 'need' to continue in 'legacy' - this doesnt exclude to also experience the new leagues, but why to be forced to throw away half-done chars after they ended?

Well said. +1.

I work full time, have a fiance I"m planning a wedding with, play tennis and (currently due to the frigid weather in MN) am taking some extra training classes through work instead of playing tennis. I have 1-2 hours a night, maybe 1-2 weeknights during the week (been a tad higher lately due to my fiance being away on business training), with a bit of "binge" playing every other weekend when I don't work. I clock on average something like 10-20 hours a week play time total (20 hours being very high), and I can guarantee you that within 1-2 weeks of release I'll have a character at least in low level maps, possibly eeking on the lvl 70 maps.

If you take 4 months to reach end-game content then you are doing something wrong with your leveling or farming, or most likely, both. If you want some help on how to maximize time as a person who can only spend a couple hours a night playing then let me know I'll be happy to help where I can, but don't sit there and act like it's the game's fault you can't reach end-game.

check your build
Check your leveling habits
Check your farming habits
Check how your time is spent

There are a lot of reasons you can be struggling to reach endgame.

Also, to all the "casuals" (I hate that term) who are complaining about not having enough time to play, and about how legacy items are making it "impossible" to compete with older players: Relax! most people playing 8-10hrs a day still won't find or be able to afford the super expensive legacy items. Those are reserved for people who play the market.

I'm sorry but you just cannot legitimately have a job, wife, kids, ect and expect to be on the top at ANYTHING in the ARPG/MMO world. These games are based on making you better and more powerful the more time you spend on them. So your meager 10-20 hours of play a week that is dwarfed by the people putting 50+ hours in a week will NEVER compete with them or the gear/wealth they can amass (normally, you can always get super lucky, it happens). You know what though? THAT'S OKAY! If you understand that then please stop whining about not being able to compete with these people, very few can, play and enjoy the game for what it is and what you can get out of it and stop worrying so fucking much about what others have amassed in 30x your playtime.

Put simply: "if you play for under 40 hours a week and you try to be one of the best; you're gonna have a bad time"
i'm interested in how rare the unique strongbox will be.

I hope its something a majority of players get a chance to see.
