The sea witches and spawn map mod sucks.

Oh I dunno, get a good map seed, squids, pack size, a good map seed, magics, some quantity and a good map seed, and it can rain maps like you never known.

Oh, did I mention a good map seed?

I heard it can have a small implication on the results.
define map seed.
Computer specifications:

Well, you know when you run a 160% rare map and brick it?
You know when you run a 15% blue map without even density mods and get 10 maps?

Some call that RNG.
I suppose it is in as much as there's likely RNG which says you draw a seed which will rain maps or a seed which says, you ain't gonna get a map out of here in a month of Sundays.

There's a reason people less and less roll maps 'properly' these days.
Casually casual.

Since you can't view the logic seed and as such have no way of telling whether or not it will generate a environment that will provide you with a lot of maps I would also call it RNG, especially if there are other factors other then the mods on the map (Such as the time the map is used and the time the eternal lab was created etc.).

Seed is when a gently evening stroll through an uninhabitated blue map will shoot you in the +1/+2 range... and an suicidal last stand battle through a doomsday hellpit, will drop you to -5.

Religious people call it RNGesus.

But no matter how you call it, the fact is; it has nothing to do with your efforts, build, playstyle, gear, experience, how many orb cash you have, or how many degrees your prayer rug fell off of Mecca azimuth... it just is.

If you happen to win the seed lotto on a squid map, then seafood will never taste more delicious. :P

Off topic but I am a convert to this. I stopped rolling "properly" in Ambush and sustained my maps to the same degree as I did when I blew chunks of currency. The only difference is that I ended up with far more currency in the end.

Edit: and carto boxes had nothing to do with it. Only carto boxes I saw were low 70s and I was having no trouble sustaning those anyways.

Yup, you see the droughts and the map showers exactly the same.

That really doesn't matter. Proper quantity increases your chances regardless whether it's a so called good seed or not.
i will say this right here and now, rolling maps does matter. i CANNOT sustain lvl 75~+ without heavy investment's if i dont invest heavy into rolling good maps i end up having to re-buy shitload more maps and it end up making me have to trade for maps instead of orbs. wich is annoying people usually sell the good maps(good layouts) for MORE $ and shitty ones are cheaper. i dont want to run only cheap shitty maps ;) i rather RNG drop me some based on my rolls.

i tried again not long ago to map in the 75's and lost my maps instantly did not find one single higher or similar in few days all were poorly rolled due to char not being able to run quite a few harder mods at the time.

Had to invest in white maps AGAIN witch I hate doing. So loving on this "seed" alone is impossible and rolling maps has a way bigger impact then you can notice with your rng alone, you would need multiple sources of data to say rolling maps is not worth it, personaly i read this and i say wtf? 100% lie. but I know its not and RNG is just odd like that.
hit me up @sarrow lets have fun :D

Indeed, by a tiny, tiny bit.

Admittedly pulling numbers out of my ass, but it's going to be something like >95% seed and <5% roll.
