Pirate Island hideout - Coastal layout

When I learned that FM will introduce hideouts that you can personalize according to your own taste I knew from the first minute what I will try to do. My own personal pirate camp! After having a look at all hideouts I decided that the Coastal hideout that Haku was offering was probably the most suitable option. It already resembles an island AND it has a sunken ship on the beach.

With that gone what's missing from the equation is pirates. I was planning to use armed guards as pirates, not fully armed guys like the Blackguards but it would be nice if they could at least wield a sword and a board.

Unfortunately my plans were shot down when I realised I can't afford alive guards or anything that resembles a guard :( Still I was determined to finish my plan so I decided to use my fellow exiles as guards.

Then I moved on to the general layout of my hideout. What I wanted was some barracks (done), an armoury (done), a warehouse for my supplies (done) and of course a few fortifications as guard posts (and done). When everything was set I started throwing decorations around that supplemented the theme.

The hardest problem was what to do with the sunken ship on the beach. At first I was thinking of filling it with loot (armour chests, supplies, barrels etc) to look like my pirates are looting it, but there is hardly any place in the ship to place the chests. Finally I decided to set up a sentry there to stay on guard for any incoming ship.

On the other hand the most time-consuming action I had to do was to place the floor on the Main Square (the pieces that Vorici sells for 80 favour/piece). I hit the 500 objects limit a few tiles before I could finish it. I decided to give up and place them at a small distance from each other. I like it that way more.

When my Haku hits level 8 (which will take some time as I can foresee) I am planning to use the upper area as the main keep. What this means is maximum level protection and ludicrous amount of wealth, in the form of statues, libraries, etc. I will most likely move my map device up there as well, and make the room it currently occupies into a prison or a dining hall for my men. I hope by that time GGG releases guards as decorations so I can fully unlock the potential of my hideout.
