[Mac] Certain keystrokes cause beeping

I recently updated to Mac OS 10.15.7 Catalina and installed Path of Exile. I find that when I press certain keys, including the tab key and the arrow keys, my computer beeps at me (MacOS alert sound). I tried rebinding the minimap key from tab to a letter, and the issue is with specific keys rather than the game action (i.e. I don't get beeped at if I press a letter key to bring up the minimap); I don't know how to do such a workaround for the arrow keys, though. The input is otherwise processed correctly, so I can still use these keys, but it's quite annoying to get beeped at for doing so, and the beeping might indicate some invalid input is being sent to the OS.
