Less than half of vram used, more things need to preload.
I have seen this on a better computer than mine but in case this is being caused by my hardware, here are my specs.
ASROCK z170Pro4s motherboard i3 6100 @3.7ghz 16GB Ram Geforce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB Vram Samsung 970 EVO M.2 NVMe Windows 10 Home Windows and all drivers are recently fresh installs and up to date. Power profile is set to high performance. If I turn up the graphics settings and turn off vsync I can 100% my cpu and gpu with path of exile, however vram usage during trials and other high activity play still only saw around 1.5gb vram at max with averages much lower. Tested with black desert which will use all available vram on my machine, so my configuration would appear not to be the issue. I have played around with all in game settings including disabling dynamic culling and dynamic resolution and problem persists. All that said, path of exile is releasing way too many assets from vram considering I have plenty of room to spare. Not using attacks for 20 or 30 seconds while still in the same map will cause them to have to load in again on next use complete with the blue boxes/muddy textures/ invisible effects etc. Please make it so at least the skills on your hotkeys preload and remain loaded throughout play. Bosses should also preload assets for attacks upon loading in themselves instead of waiting until they are invisibly attacking you to load the effects. Loading in the room with just Izaro playing that long animation of him being raised up through the floor and then watching the game try to load in his attacks after he's used them for the first time is just a little bit silly.
