Permanent Private Leagues

I just recently became aware of the ability to create one's own private leagues and instantly fell in love with the idea. I have a group of friends with whom we occasionally like to play PoE together, and we would certainly be willing to pay for a league of our own. The issue is that we have many other priorities in life and the maximum duration of the league of 70 days is woefully inadequate for our needs, as we are not always able to find the time to play at all and would like to retain the ability to continue where we left off once our life situations allow it. So what I would suggest is the option to create permanent private leagues that would work with a more "subscription" style billing.

- A permanent league would be able to select any of the league styles available at the time of creation.
- Temporary league features from the current challenge leagues could be activated and disactivated at will, activation could have a nominal fee
- When the duration of a temporary league runs out, the league would remain indefinitely but becomes inactive, the ability to play within this league would resume upon purchasing a new time extension.
- The price of the time extension could scale with the allowed player size of the league, while the price of extending the allowed player size of the league could scale with remaining time.
- The League should be resetable whenever the players of that private league feel like it, maybe for a nominal fee, so that one wouldn't need to create a completely new league to get a free start
- Characters from a league that has been reset would turn into either normal standard or HC characters.
- Ruthless should be a toggle of its own, I wouldn't want to lose Ruthless mode just for changing to the current league, and I don't like the idea of being forced to have league features I don't like in order to play Ruthless mode.

Just my two cents. We love the idea of a private league of our own, especially the monster health and damage modifiers available got us really excited, however, as the feature stands currently, we wouldn't be able to truly enjoy the league due to the time constraints, and we would certainly be willing to pay for a permanent private league.

Best wishes.

This is one of those posts where I have to say: "You unknown traveler of Wraeclast, have my full support"
Private Leagues and Ruthless are such a breeze of fresh air to the neon light, LSD cracked light show with 50 methods of modding your gear that the current state of Path of Exile has become.
I hope the devs are expanding the idea even more to the point where we would be able to choose just to plain game as Ruthless is and able to adjust the difficulty settings according to our personal preferences.

I have to say I still remember the difficulty that beta used to have and I would welcome the challenge in a private server with open arms. The sad side being that the limited time gives me doubts at the moment whether to start it or not.

If however the appauling time limit would be lifted and the private league time limits set free like the experimental subjects that Piety had, it would be most joyous thing for this thriving game.

+1 for this post
Nice idea, +1

On the time limit: Maybe the limit could be "total hours played" for private leages that don't have a challenge league enabled, so you wouldn't get 70 days with fixed start/end dates but 70x24 = 1680 hours. And then get a checkbox for an extension e.g. 72hrs before your time is up.
Private League should just be a thing with a minimum sign up number.

Personally I find it appalling they even charge money for this.

It is nothing more than a flag like any other game mode. When they first announced it I thought it was cool. Guild runs and all that but I'm not playing money for such a trivial thing to code.

It's like $70 for a 30 player full 3 month league then people think D4 is a rip off.
