What's the right order to play the game?

Hey guys, new player here! I mean, inexperienced player here. So, I just started playing POE for real and just got into the league and reset stuff.
My question is, what's the "workflow" for doing new leagues?
Because you still got acts, the maps and all of the other side content of other leagues.
When do I start doing the league content? Should I do acts first and then focus on the league? Or do I have to complete maps first? Should I do side content other than the new league mechanic or just focus on the new league?

I would complete acts first(remember to do labyrinths aswell for your ascendancy) and then dip your toe into the league mechanic, see if u like it. You can get a 5 link there or even a 6 link if u are lucky and some random currency for your bench crafts, to craft your maps and so on. At some point you want to focus on completing your atlas and defeating the so called "tutorial bosses" which give you your first two voidstones.

The game will walk you through it introducing content as you progress through the acts. You cant do maps until the acts are complete.

It heavily depends on the league mechanic. But most of the time, you always skip league content until you done with acts and 3rd lab a.k.a getting into maps.

Yes, that's correct.

Speaking strictly about economy lead, you are often better off skipping league content and just blast to maps. Often times I unlock atlas first and only start to focus on league content once I can comfortably farm t16. This is only for eco play though: if you are more interested in learning mechanics and dont feel the need to rush then by all means, start league content once u enter maps. Before that though, a.k.a during campaign, it is often not worth doing.

there is no correct order to play the game unless you mean in terms of making highest amounts of currency, but that changes from league to league as that depends on the state of economy
