Affliction: Crimson Power
This was not covered in the FAQ:
When taking the Crimson Power warlock node, it states: "Removes all Energy Shield" "Gain Maximum Life instead of Maximum Energy Shield from Equipped Armour" Okay... how does this treat Energy Shield nodes? Let's say I pick up enough nodes to get 100% increased Energy shield. I Equip an armour item with 100 energy shield which, with said nodes, would be 200 ES. Is that going to be 100 Max Life or 200? Patch Notes 3.15: Fixed a bug where players believed the game was playable. This has been corrected and made retroactive. Patch Notes 3.19: Fixed a bug where players adapted to 3.15. This bug cannot be corrected, so we have implemented a 90% reduction in item access as a punishment. Last bumped on Dec 8, 2023, 12:53:11 PM

I can't imagine it working like that.
It's pretty easy to make Vaal Regalias with over 700 ES, which would then translate to 700 to maximum life? Seems unrealistic if you can also do that for helm, shield, gloves and boots. Most likely the wording 'maximum energy shield' is to be understood as the explicit + max energyshield mod on items instead grants + max life at a 1:1 conversion. That way you could craft hybrid items with high max life and high +max ES to double drip. This seems more balanced, but considering Crimson Power also gives -600 life at lvl 100, this seems almost 'too bad' to be the case either. Time will tell I guess. |
