Making sense of Affliction
So, I was randomly watching YouTube videos yesterday night regarding the Affliction mechanics.
Apparently you can "force" loot explosions by having 2000-3000 or more of each wisp colour, which sounds good. Could use at least a few divine orbs now that my toon is 93 levels old and I still run around in semi-ridiculous gear (I don't know why - in Crucible I was almost done with my beloved WoC-Ignition build at this point). But what I don't get: How on Earth do I get so many wisps? 2000+ in a single colour is relatively normal, but in all 3? Are there any tricks? And, while we're at it: Is there a publicly known formula or algorithm for what the wisps actually do? Last bumped on Dec 30, 2023, 6:29:38 AM

Its RNG whether you even spawn all 3 colors of wisps. Then, you just go for "encounters" and collect wisps between them.

based on what I've heard and experienced, whisp amount depends (one of the factors) on quant rolled on map. As Aynix wrote, go for encounters (and masters are not great for that). I've seen a video of a guy explaining how events are located/generated but I'm unable to confirm it (and I will not test it probably as I already don't play).

Yeah, people already figured out "diamond strat". Every affliction map is the same, with 4 enounters in North, South, East and West/ Only thing that changes is the location of entrance.
