Maybe it's on your ISP's end?

I have a 500mbit fiber optic cable internet connection (EU) and I don't have any problems with any games besides POE. Also, lag spikes only happen in maps and also every 3rd or 4th map. And this has happened since this league, I never had this problem before. How can this be my connection's fault?

welcome to gaming in the eu and most games being unplayable past 7pm thanks to the horrible routing through Telia.
A known problem across many games

If u are watching Ben or other gamers from the USA, then you will see a super fast loading screen. In europe we have 2nd world connections to POE. In Germany it's 3rd world connection.

Iam living in Berlin and without VPN I am not able to play on Frankfurt server, because of latency, like a sinus graph. Only Amsterdam and Milan are playable without VPN. I was playing Diablo 4, and there were no problems with the direct connection. Maybe one or two lags during a whole week, without VPN.

I think it's not only the problem of weak internet provider, because I am watching IPTV and playing other games with less problems or even without problems. German internet providers are not nearly perfect, but with my experience GGG's server connection is not good.

Looks like DDoSers are back. Happens to EU servers (especially Frankfurt) in my experience. Switching servers (non-Eu maybe) might work for you.

Didn't know problems with Telia still existed. That was a decade ago.

Part of the reason for that supposedly is "that Texas server" which is entirely GGGs fault. They could use better programming to not let this slowdown area transitions for those playing elsewhere.

I'm unable to play ravaged blight maps anymore. I lost all blight maps I tried this league. Even with all video conf in low I finished playing every map at 5 fps. First time it happens to me.

Sunday 2 pm and I have again 2000ms lag spikes. What an absolute joke
