New Maps in Map Device causing crash

Whenever I activate a new map in the map device, select enter in the seasonal dialog, the instance change to the map causing a crash to Windows desktop without any further information.

I repeated this twice with the same map (and hideout instance). Note that neither attempt to enter the map consumed a map portal (still had 6 after).

After that, I twice waited +30mins to clear any instance info, and opened a new map in the map device. I had the same result - while making the instance change to the map, the game crashed to Windows desktop.

Any ideas how to fix this?

After digging through forums, my issue appears to be identical to the bug posted under # 728,723,827

After an unexpected Microsoft update (and subsequent restarts), PoE is working fine again. Not sure if the update fixed something, or if my system simply needed a clean restart. Back to farming those maps... :-)
