Escape button stopped working in game

I've tried resetting controls to default but I'm fully unable to open an ingame menu or close the ui elements with an escape button. It works perfectly in any other game or in a system, but not in PoE.
Verification of file integrity didn't detect any issues.
Had the same problem prior before and re-instalation of the game fixed the problem but constantly re-installing the game isn't the way game should be experienced. I'd like to know the way to identify and fix this issue without fully reinstalling the game.

UPD. Re-instalation haven't fixed an issue this time

I'm having the same issue. Started just now. I haven't changed anything except closing the game and opening it again.

PoE Overlay is possibly an issue for me. I don't know if you're using that as well. If you're using a 3rd party tool to price check that uses specific keybinds, that could interfere with the poe keybinds and worsen your experience.
