Is Idle mining not working or did I misunderstand?

I've set up my miners in town. 2 dudes.

I've found ore in the game myself and got some ore that way..

But was it not intended to also have idle mining? I saw a video of a guy
setting it up and his counter started..."To be compleated in 30 min"
Mine is not starting. I have gold for their wage and all.

Is it something to do with low level still?

I think you have to put gold in your town treasury at johan npc.

I have the same problem. I am stuck unable to upgrade any part or the whole town because i have no ore. I cant send my ship put because they want ore. I have days worth of gold added to the town and it does not show gold as the reason I cant upgrade. just the ore is red.

Have you found any ore nodes (and liberated them) either in campaign or in maps?

The miners can only mine from the nodes you found.
(unlike farming which is basically infinite)

You need to run locations and on them mark ore. Then miners will mine it.
