Rallying cry and Autoexertion interaction

So Autoexertion has the new modifier "Supported Warcries do not grant buffs or charges to you or allies" and Rallying Cry's exert has "exerted attacks deal 5% more damage per AFFECTED ALLY".

Does this mean, that since rallying cry does not grant the buff then you don't get the exert damage bonus? Or does the the warcry still work just that the Ally don't get the buff?

If I understand what you are asking, I think you do get the attack damage even though the allies aren't getting buffed. Otherwise it means it's basically doing nothing when these two are combined. Interested to know if I am wrong though, and these two just don't work well together. Can you test it?

Yes. No affected allies means no 0% more damage.
Well there you go. Makes sense.
What about overexertion? does it get a boost from an autoexerted rallying cry?

Yes, Rallying Cry still exerts your attacks even if no allies were affected by the buff.
Does this still work despite it shouldn't because of some bug? Some streamers say that some other streamers tested it and it still works and you can leave rallying cry in autoexertion setup

Edit: just tested it in pvp, rallying cry doesn't give more damage in autoexertion as Mark stated
