Unable to rescue ship crew

I am unable to rescue my ship crew: i clicked on the rescue button, clicked on the portal or whatever spawned and it disappeared. What am i supposed to do.
I don't know if this is bug or i just have to meet XYZ conditions to rescue them.

I have the same issue. The error message was "Cannot connect to instance. That subarea no longer exists."

The "rescue" button is now greyed out and I can't do anything.

Same issue here.
Plus there is no ransom price tag so you dont even know how much do they want.

This also happened to me. Now rescue is greyed out and I don't know how much to pay to ransom.

I have the same issue. Both Rescue & Ransom are greyed out - Abandon is the only option - I have never opened any instance of the pirate king nor fought him before.

It has been this way probably for the past month. Is it worth just abandoning it and getting new crew or hope there is a bug fix? My 2nd ship is available

Some problems with connection.

Don't know anything about the bug, but once rescue is failed you can not take the other options. So if for some reason you disconnect or there was a bug during the encounter, so you can not complete it, you will loose the encounter and ship. That is why the options are greyed out.

Yes that is what you will need to do if you want the first ship available again. It's not a bug as far as i'm aware, so I don't think it will be getting fixed. A lot of people were encountering a similar thing earlier in the league when miskicking exit portal and loosing the encounter.

Some people have mentioned similar encounters for the mapping boss. Check the bug section of the forum perhaps for information about the disconnecting.

Yeah, this is bull. I never even tried to enter the instance because I never saw any message that the ship was commandeered. I only found out when I was in Kingsmarch trying to get a shipment together.

The only option I have is to abandon, even though I have never even tried to enter the instance, because every other option is greyed out. They were that way from the very minute I saw them. Why? Why are all of my long hours of gameplay being punished by preventing me from having any chance at all to rescue my ship and crew? The more I play this game the more I realize I like Diablo 3 better because it's not such a pain in the ass when trying to do something.

You have not completed any challenges and and show no characters. Are you even playing this league? I'm pretty sure you cannot get to shipping without at least one or to challenges met. lol
