Any having trouble with the "manage town" interfece in Kingsmarch?

My friend seems to have an issue with the UI menu with the settlers league. I had him invite the new npcs to his ho, and reset his keybinds to default, but he can't open the manage town interface in Kingsmarch. He also tested the "v" key on other league mechanics but they seem to be working fine. I have seen some players on reddit and some forums talking about this issue. is there a fix on the way for this?
