Bleed Chance to Attacks on Ballista Totems

I've been trying to test the "Bleed and critical strike chance" near the "Cornered Pray" notable, specifically with siege ballistas.

I just can't tell if it works or not, though I can't think of a reason it wouldn't, and there is no monster debuff icon for bleed appearing on the monsters. Any ideas?
