Ritual altar & Destructive Play atlas node not working together when dying?

If the ritual altar spawns on the boss I am not getting the option to start the ritual after killing the boss and the extra bosses from destructive play. It is as if there are still monsters alive and so I cannot interact with the ritual altar at all.

Possible that dying during the boss fight after destructive play bosses are spawned is what causes the issue?

Also I've noticed this twice and both times the Tukohama boss was one of the extra bosses, the one that spawns the blue protection totems.
