What happened to PvP?
Sometimes iam reading old posts or posts talking about how this game used to be and PvP gets mentioned quite a bit. There were PvP Events, a PvP community, well known Streamers like Havoc participating in it. I remember when there were various options to make a PvP Character in a League. And most know the Hall of Grandmaster Map. So what happened to this part of this game? When i started to play PvP was already dead. Was there a Patch that killed PvP and is there a possibility to revive it? Because it doesnt look like a natural decline in interest to me the way its just been completly dead for years. Last i managed to find a group to play Capture the Flag it still worked fine, though we all crashed at the end of every round. And it is a complety mystery why PvP is disabled in Ruthless. Why would GGG bother so much to disable a niche feature in a niche mode? Disabling content doesnt seem like a thing GGG would do. I mean this game takes pride in all the various content it offers. For that reason i also think its odd why it has not been mentioned at all for PoE2. So if there are players here who witnessed the downfall of PvP could you put some light on what actually happened?

the only thing they removed is Royale
pvp still exists in-game but the pvp scaling balance is horrible and no reward at all so that no one playing It would be good Ancestor league mechanic back as real pvp MOBA This is the start of forum signature: I am not a GGG employee. PVP cannot be a core part of the game because when balancing, the devs exclude PVP as a factor. A result of this is that projectile builds will almost always 1-shot you from any point in the arena, no matter where from, or where you are.
If you play melee, you cannot PVP unless it's against another melee build. Even then, skills like lightning strike throw a turd at the traditional understanding of the term melee. It's unfortunate it can't work in poe, but I think it's for the greater good that they ignore PVP for the benefit of the rest of the game. They could however have Exclusively-PVP content. I don't think it would take off like in D2 PVP but yeah. I'm struggling to come up with new goals to keep me playing this game.

pvp has a separate scaling for all skill, which does not affecting the decision on skill balancing for pve.

" While that may be written here on the forum and in some patch notes, in reality, in Sarn arena or in PVP arenas, that info doesn't appear to be of much significance. "Scaling" has no meaning when the projectile that kills you was fired from 7 screens, or 4 seconds away. I'm struggling to come up with new goals to keep me playing this game.
