Problems with POE 1

Dear experienced players / developers:

In conducting a research about POE1 and I need your help. It would help me a ton if you could answer this question with as much detail as you can:

What problems does POE1 have that made it necessary to make POE2?

Thanks for your help ♥

They just wanted to build up a new game from scratch without changing their existing game to something entirely new.
Current Poe had no space for further power creep with the different gem system same as all the new classes or even a entirely new campaign.
They would have had to rework a lot in current Poe to implement all of those changes into the game.
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.
PoE2 was intended to be a patch for PoE1, to add a new play through and a shared end game, it became a separate entity when the scope of what they were developing became too large, there was no problem with PoE1 and it will continue to be developed for in tandem with PoE2 (with supposedly alternating leagues)

Conducting research, lol?

Launching your own ARPG?
It's old and requires a successor. Each new expansion is basically plastic surgery at this point.
I'm struggling to come up with new goals to keep me playing this game.

there is no such thing as no reason, they have a reason, even if you agree with it or not.
