Can't tank Uber Maven Memory Game 100% Why??

Need PoE gigabrains help.

My PoB says I tank 1.62 Hits b4 death.

PoB says she has 30% multi so even if she crits I'd survive right? Cos a crit would be 1.3 Hits of my 1.62 Hits until death.

How am I dying so often tanking Memory game... I have video footage if needed but I've reviewed it and there's no obvious debuff or cause that I can see. I'm full life, I granite flask then molten shell at edge of memory game then I die. Why?

Maven's memory game has 3 bursts and a strong degen while you are standing in the purple area. The values in POB only represent 1 burst. The other 2 and the degen are not taken into account. There are notes in the boss skill selection menu that tells you as much. To safely survive it you'd need a "hits before death" of at least 3, better 4. 1.6 isn't going to cut it.

If you read the POB's memory game description, it's stated that Memory Game actually hits you thrice, so you have to have >3 hits before death (>3.9 if she crits and you have no crit mitigation).

Even then you'll need immense recovery as MG also apply a powerful DoT effect that can easily finish off a barely surviving character.

OK thank you Baharoth15 and PoitelMarto... this is very enlightening information and confusing also as I tanked 3 of the memory games in the same fight as well with the attached PoB and 1.66 (with granite) Hits b4 death.

Maybe you have some kind of damage avoidance like elusive? I've survived a bunch of memory games by lucking out with that.

/edit just checked POB, appears you don't. Then i have no idea how you survived that.

You are 100% correct for 1 of the 3 memory games I tanked as I did forget I have an inventory full of Omen of Death Dancing (consumed when you reach 25% life, you have 75% chance to avoid damage from hits for 4 seconds)... however it appears only 1 omen was used the whole fight (I just googled omens and only 1 can be used per instance).

So yeah 2 memory game survives I can't explain. Appreciate your insights though.

Ok I'm confident I've figured it out.

I don't believe PoB is correct when it says Maven Memory Game hits 3 times so your hits to survive should be at least 3.

I watched my Uber Maven fight again and counted the Memory Game pulses. There was 3...5...and 6. So the causes 3,5,6 bursts line on memory game poe.db page is referring to the memory puzzle - not the number of explosions (which also makes sense as the explosion animation is always 1 KABOOM... never bang bang bang etc).

This also explains how I survived 3 times and died a bunch. The Maven Memory game damage ranges from 42571 of each element with 8 pen to 63857 with 8 pen and as I edited these numbers in it became clear I can only tank up to 46800 and survive.

At 63857 my hits til death is 0.71... so yeah I got some further build tweaking to do.

This discussion is actually very interesting, How confident are you that it does actually NOT pulse (hit) three times, because there is so much conflicting information out there I would really love if there was some clarity on this.

I have a build on HC Settlers that per PoB can tank 1.24 Memory Games when it is on 100% damage roll range... but I really am hesitant to test it out ingame, because it is HC of course...

But if it is 100% confirmed it only hits once, I should be able to tank it, no?

Where is the "8 pen" coming from? AFAIK you need to multiply the poedb numbers with *1.7. And maybe some other small more multiplier. So if you got 90% resists then this would do approximately the same as your "8 pen".
