Game won't load with Xbox controller through Steam

Hey guys, hadn't played POE this league but when I wanted to, turns out I get very consistent bugs making it impossible to play on controller.

1) Cannot load in after character creation if I use a controller.
Litteraly stuck on loading screen and games crashes.
I use Xbox controller, i have no idea how other controllers are affected.
I've tried changing graphic settings etc, doesn't do anything.
Tried with mouse & keyboard, no issue.

2) Also, 1/2 times, cannot interact in main menu with controller.
Like it has recognised it is controller settings, sometimes i can use sticks to move around, but buttons do not work.

I have been playing POE for multiple leagues so everything should work.
I had litterally the same settings as last league too, so should work.
I'm happy to share any info you may need (not putting specs cause I do not think that's the issue?)
