Stun avoidance vs. StunandBlock recovery

Hello there...
I'm playing a block-build, read up on the block mechanics, about how when something cuts through my block and is enough to stun me, I get the short stun animation which makes me loose block for that short window of time (hope I got that right).
So now I'm wondering: How to avoid that gap best?
With certain things, I can either bring my stun avoidance stat to 107%, or bring my stun recovery and block recovery both to 187%.
Since it's all about not being stunned, stun avoidance sounds more direct and effective, but other than with ignite for example, it does not say "stun immune - yes", but gives me that 107%, which makes me think that certain monster effects will lower that.
So my question is: Which is better, 107% stun avoidance or 187% stun&block recovery?

Not sure this is correct. Stun interupts you from making actions, but I think you can still block during the duration of being stunned.

Yes there are a lot of aspect involved with the stun mechanic. If you haven't already, I would read through the wiki, it explains a lot of these.

Personally I would prefer 100% stun avoidance over stun and block recovery. Even if it can be lowered. I'm not certain on all the specifics of that but think you are correct. It's also build dependent. Some builds actually benefit off being stunned.

There's also a lot of other options. For example increasing your stun threshold, having energy shield, using pantheon, etc. If your playing HC this is quite important, but otherwise I wouldn't be too worried about it, unless your build actually starts getting impacted by the stuns. Otherwise you might be spending resources that could be allocated elsewhere. If you're playing a high life build, you're probably not going to be getting stunned that much. If you have a low life pool and are getting hit/blocking often, it may be more necessary.

There are also a lot of strange quirky mechanics related to stun, like some of the ones on the wiki:

"
Apart from all other considerations for receiving or inflicting a stun, stun cannot occur if:

The hit is a critical strike;
Cold damage is taken by the defender (directly or with taken as modifiers); and
The attacker's critical strikes can inherently Freeze.

"
Picking up an item grants a brief immunity to stun.

Thanks for your thoughts. I'll consider all this...
