How can I see which exposure?
I've tried using Wave of Conviction (also to proc curse on hit) and I'm finding it difficult to determine if I am applying lightning exposure, fire exposure, or neither. Sometimes I can see what looks like a little box that *seems* to me to indicate that it could be something like lightning exposure, but I sometimes do not see any box at all. According to my tooltip, I should be doing 361-568 fire damage and 228-342 lightning damage, so I thought I *should* be always applying fire exposure (since 342 < 361), but I am not feeling confident. Any tips?

If you've applied exposure to an enemy, there will be a visual effect on the enemy to indicate it. From a quick test, fire exposure looked like red/orange falling lines and occasional sparks of fire, both around the enemy's upper body.
If you're trying to figure out ahead of time, rather than after hitting the enemy...the answer is that it would depend on the enemy's resistances, because it's decided by damage taken by the enemy. If the enemy's Fire Resistance is still notably higher than its Lightning resistance even after applying Flammability, it could end up taking less Fire damage than Lightning damage. |
