HELP : How does ore rewards work ?

When opening a map what determines the amount of ore found in that map ?
Quantity ? Rarity ? Number of Map Mods ? Does a delirium mirror inside the map increase the ore found ? Do increase quant/rarity altars affect the ore found ? If adding delirium orbs on the map, will that increase the ore found ? Plse help. Haven't seen anything on ore spawns being affected by map modifiers. You can increase rare types of ore and amount mined by upgrading your mine. It also scales with character level/monster lvl of area.
